I like Dawson but I think he was the odd man out. Either he or Gallas were going to go and Gallas had a good pre-season and did pretty well vs. Newcastle. Kaboul's going nowhere, Caulker's the future, and Vertonghen just got here.

Defender Dorin Goian has left Rangers to join Italian Serie B club Spezia on a season-long loan.

t' 31-year-old Romanian international has experience of playing in Italy, having moved to Ibrox from Palermo in July 2011.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist also told BBC Scotland that midfielder Maurice Edu may be joining Stoke.

There was talk of Moisander going to Anderlecht I think but they just couldn't spend t' money for him, was all pretty much agreed with Matias Suarez move to CSKA for about €11m sorted - and then Suarez failed a medical and Anderlecht couldn't afford Moisander

EDIT: Apparently Cassano is on t' verge of a move to Inter Milan after passing a medical. Not sure t' AC Milan fans are massively enamoured given how they stood by him after his stroke, recently came back to playing professional football again and now looks to be up and offing to their fiercest rivals. Going as part of a swap deal for Giampaolo Pazzini and €7m.

Dawson deal will be £7.5m rising to potentially £10m, should it happen. Dawson has agreed to move in principle.

More likely Spurs are inventing the interest of another club to drive the price up.

saw an article linking Spurs to Carvaliho, Falcao and again with Leandro.

Surely they can't afford Falcao or Leandro - and Carvaliho's a little old - t' CB position seems pretty covered, too.

I thought their CB position seemed pretty weak atm.

They've sold Dawson, Corluka and Bassong (with King also leaving) and in their place you've got Vertonghen.

They need another squad CB and Carvaliho sounds like a decent backup option.

Kaboul and Vertonghen first choice; Caulker the young one learning, Gallas experienced cover. That's four, In a crisis the likes of Livermore can play there. We're fine at CB.
