I know they were restricting you to deathmatch and racing at first but I think it's a bit crap you can't just freeroam, you NEED to do a race first?

I know it's only a small part of the game, but 'Waiting for players' is perhaps my favourite part of GTA Online.

I've just been kicked out of my server at the waiting for new players screen for the race. Rockstar are gonna get mauled for this if their servers can't even handle it now.

I'm online and I just did my first team deathmatch, managed to cap some dude from a roof and then got capped myself

it does for everyone. It's when Rockstar Social Club is struggling, it doesn't update.

So can you free roam after you race? Don't think I'd be much interested if it doesn't let you free roam.
