My eyes are drawn towards the following:

MATCH ENGINE

Improvements to goalkeeping
Improved goals from direct free kicks
Fixed consistently, unrealistic high scorelines in lower leagues
Fixed headed backpasses leading to goals
Reduced own goal levels
Hundreds of other changes to match AI

INTERACTION

Improved balance of the ease at which a player can be talked around when they are unhappy
Improved balance of the amount of teammates who support players in their unhappiness
Fixed issue where players would ask to leave for first team football before they simply asked for more first team football

We shall see if the difference is actually noticeable.

Have they ever done an update for the beta before? I know there's normally a day 1 update but I can't remember them ever patching the beta on previous versions.

Hopefully if issues keep arising they can be consistent instead of the usual two big patches, would rather have smaller regular updates.

Presumably they're constantly updating the beta, but I don't think they usually update the beta once it's gone public, no.

I remember the 2008 pre-release demo being patched, but that might not be the same sort of thing you're talking about.

Just realised you can give yourself points to determine which kind of manager you are. That's a pretty cool feature.

How well does it work? I've seen a couple of reviews that have claimed it makes things more difficult and can mire you in a "jack of all trades" mould, and I haven't really heard the opposite side of the argument, so I'd be interested to know whether it's a decent addition or not.

I've not really noticed a difference, but it's nice to have an additional member of the coaching staff (IE: yourself).
