Eh, the board is a bunch of goofballs. I would be more surprised if the final two weren't both comedies.

How very dare you.

And there's absolutely no reason a comedy can't be more important, significant, or just better than a drama, speaking in a general sense. They're equally viable genres, especially under such broad definitions.

Keep the votes coming, folks. You have about 30 hours left.

The results are in. It is now finally time to announce EWB's All-Time Favorite TV Show.

In the battle of 1) Community vs. 1) Arrested Development, the winner, by a single vote, is

I kid, I kid.

Ladies and gentlemen, having defeated its opponent by a score of 13-12,

Yeah, it's hard to argue with that result. (But I did personally vote the other way on the final. Personal preference, by a slim margin.)

I'll reveal the points from the nomination round later.

Feel free to discuss the tourney as a whole.

What was the most heart-breaking result?

What was the toughest match-up?

What show got further than it should have?

What were you pulling for?

What was the most heart-breaking result?

The A-Team d. Parks and Rec.

What was the toughest match-up?

Way too many to single out just one. Maybe the final, though.

What show got further than it should have?

Scrubs.

What were you pulling for?

The Wire.

Yeah, I'm still surprised that both Parks and Rec and The Wire went out when they did.

Scrubs could have arguably gone out in the 2nd to 24, but that wasn't so terrible. It was Scrubs beating Louie that had me cursing EWB's name. That's entirely wrong.

I only voted for the Final, and would like to believe my vote was the decisive one :shifty:

Had I been here from the beginning, I would have said the following

What was the most heart-breaking result?

Futurama def. The Wire <_<

What show got further than it should have?

Futurama <_<

What were you pulling for?

The Wire <_<

Theoretically the hardest pick of the tournament would have been The Wire vs Arrested Development. I also would have wanted The Shield to last much longer than it did.

I was really excited for Louie's great showing, after beating Dexter I thought it was going to go far. Then it lost to Scrubs. That was the most heartbreaking result. The final was the toughest pick by far, and I was pulling for Breaking Bad, which I mentioned once or twice.

I'm glad AD won, I get the feeling that Community may be a bit of a fad that won't be looked upon as greatly (that's not to say it'll be looked upon poorly or anything) in a few years time. I could be wrong but Arrested Development has been off the air for 5-6 years now and it's still brilliant.

I'm a bit disappointed Lost didn't get further and I thought Simpsons would be in the final two, otherwise I'm just happy Scrubs didn't get close to winning. :shifty:

I don't think Community's going to be a fad, but part of the reason why I couldn't vote for it is that it's still airing and I do think you need a bit of time after the show ends to truly evaluate it.

It would be interesting to see this final again in three or four years after the AD comeback happens and Community's run ends to see if things change.

I expect Community will hold up 5 or 6 years down the line like Arrested Development does, but AD is almost a perfect comedy. I can't remember a bad episode. Community is awesome, but there have been some weak episodes and plot points. The best episodes of Community will still be great in a decade, but the worst episodes of Arrested Development are still great now.

Though we could get a lackluster season four and movie and then Arrested Development won't be remembered as fondly either.

I think the right choice was made, even though I prefer Community; I attribute my preference to being a fan for the entire duration of the show, while I only watched Arrested Development on DVD. As of now, I think AD is the better show, though I'd love for this season (and season four) of Community to change that.
