  1. I'm just about to start my second season as Portsmouth. My first season started brilliantly with a 4-3 win at Arsenal and then beating Chelsea 2-1 at Fratton Park and was sitting top of the league until the turn of the year. I had some bad results, but so did all the teams around me and in March there was still myself, Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton that could realistically win the league. Unfortunately, things fell apart and I finished sixth, just missing out on automatic qualification for the UEFA Cup which was my goal for the season, but luckily I applied for the Inter-Toto Cup and I should be able to walk through that. I have made some seriously impressive signings this summer to add to my big signings of Andrey Arshavin, Christopher Samba and Andres D'Alessandro the season before. This is now how my team lines up. GK - David James/Tomasz Kuszczk/Kasper Schmeichal (haven't decided who'll start yet!) RB - Glen Johnson LB - Mattia Cassani/Joe Mattock CB - Christopher Samba CB - Sylvian Distin/Sol Campbell CM - Lassana Diara CM - Julio Baptista (£2.8m! ) AMR - Andres D'Alessandro/Mauro Zarate AML - Niko Kranjcar/Sulley Muntari ST - Jermain Defoe ST - Javier Saviola (£3.1m!!! ) My substitutes include Sebastian Larsson, Nuri Sahin, Papa Boupa Diop, Pedro Mendes, Andrey Arshavin and Kanu. I'm hoping to offload Kanu and Mendes and hopefully I might bring in Robert Huth. Come on Champions League qualification!!! EDIT: Oh, and I should be getting Alex Hleb on loan as well...
  2. It's an Arsenal fan website, and a very reputable one at that, so we finally have our first signing! Yay!
  3. What I find annoying is that if you decide to negotiate a transfer instead accepting it, the player will still treat is as if you've rejected it and get all pissy.
  4. On the night, Chelsea deserved but over the course of the season (as in the Premiership) the best team in the competition won it.
  5. Ha ha, that was brilliant. Sitting here with my brother as Ronaldo, Terry and Anelka stepped up we said they'd all miss and they did. Seeing John Terry miss is the funniest thing. Hate him as a player and it's just brilliant seeing him crying. I feel sorry for Lamps, but seeing Ashley Cole, John Terry and co all miserable has made my night.
  6. Andy Gray is like Jerry Lawler...not the best but it just doesn't feel right with anyone else. I'll admit I'm shocked at how good a game this is. On the night Chelsea deserve it, but I hate them, so come on United! Wahey, Didier Drogba is gone! What a twat.
  7. Now I find out. :'( Bloody Defoe has been on fire for me. Oh well, guess this means the first team to put in a decent offer for him will be having him. Luckily I have Arshavin who likes to score, but on the other hand I also have Milan Baros who couldn't score if the goal was the size of Europe. EDIT: Just downloaded the FM Modifier editor to see if that can help, but nope. I'm sure an older version allowed you to edit future transfer amounts and stuff. Ah well, I'll just give myself more money...£38m more I think is fair don't you? Stupid game screwing with my head!!!
  8. I've discovered the most evil thing. As Portsmouth, my transfer budget magically dropped from £5m to £1.8m and after checking out the transfer tab in finances I discovered a reason why. Apparently I have to pay Tottenham £1m per game for Jermain Defoe for...and this is where it gets funny...the next 38 GAMES!!! That's just not right. Oh, that's on top of the £85k per-month for the next 32 months, so all in all, on top of the already paid £4m I will owe Tottenham another £40m. Methinks there is something not quite right there.
  9. LA Song by Christian Kane. Up until, well today I had never heard anything else from him, and the only reason I heard anything from him in the first place is because of Angel. I hate country music, but Kane can sure as hell sing. This thread made me head over to his bands MySpace page and the stuff there is really good.
  10. It occurs to me that Domenech is an idiot. Where's Clichy and Sagna? The best left and right-backs in the Premiership (arguably) have been left out of his squad, yet Thuram and Abidal get in? He's an idiot
  11. This show was awesome. I can't believe it's never been released on DVD, I remember looking online for it about a year ago and not finding anything.
  12. I'm watching it. Gladiators was always just "silly-fun" for lack of a better term, so in that respect nothing has changed.
  13. Decent enough game with a great atmosphere. I'm happy Portsmouth won it, Redknapp's deserved it for everything he's done in the game. Plus a bunch of former Arsenal boys there, so with that's nice as well. Well done.
  14. Damnit why is there red on our sleeves? Our kits don't have red sleeves!!! I'll grow to like it, I always hate Arsenal kits when I first see them but then they grow on me, but this one...the sleeves...
  15. There's a reason police start planning for these things weeks/months in advance, but they only had about a week to prepare for ridiculous numbers, so no it is not their fault, it is the fault of a 100,000 drunk Scots who started drinking the second they arrived and were hammered hours before kick-off.
  16. I just finished reading Messiah Complex (and Endangered Species) and I have to say that it is the best comics I think I have ever read. From start to finish it is just pure quality. Twists and turns everywhere, nobody is out of character and we finally find out who the X-traitor is. ES and MC make up for the shiteness that was House of M. If you haven't read it, read it.

    Most Watched

Buffy and Angel are on a loop in my room I swear. One route or the other I work through the two of them and then when I finish, I seem to give a bit of time...and then start again. I'm currently half-way through season 4 of Buffy and finished season 2 of Angel. The two greatest TV shows ever created, so I would happily watch every episode all the time. I also find the DVD's that own and have seen before are the ones I tend to watch a lot of, yet I have a tonne of DVD's I still have never watched.
  18. Well in parts, the Eliminator looks a lot harder now. The swimming and then the cargo net and also the pyramid looks so draining. The stupid rolling thing is shit, the lack of balance beam before the travelator is just wrong, and is it me or is the travelator at an easier angle than it use to be? Mind you, after running up that pyramind and having wet feet, maybe it'd be impossible for it to be as it was. All in all, awful wrestling promos, crap music and Duel aside I thought it was pretty decent.
  19. Well I'd say he failed miserably at that. Since Duel it's been pretty good. Putting Duel on first was not the smartest idea. Booo, no Hang Tough?
  20. Why was there a wrestling promo that was pretty clearly scripted no matter what happened? How dumb did he sound saying "average score" when one of the guys got 11?
  21. Nipples...it's all about the nipples.

    Doctor Who

See I don't get the whole "it didn't have a point" thing. The Doctor has a daughter, even though he thinks she is dead she's not and she's obviously going to come back at some point, so that is the point right there.
  23. I hate the music, all of it, that's my biggest gripe. The water seems like a pretty good idea, it'd get slated if they did an exact replica of the original, so I like they're trying different things but the arena, I don't know, it seems a lot smaller than the original and that seems to make it very quiet. Also in the original you had the decently load music to add to it as well, but this shit; I don't even know what it's suppose to be, way to quiet.
  24. I'm bringing this back from the dead because it's five minutes away and I am actually ridiculously excited for this. Of course, that probably mean's it'll be shit... EDIT: Oi you bastard!!! Beat me to it...
