    Doctor Who

Personally I thought the episode was brilliant. If his daughter had already existed she would inevitably have turned into her mopping about why he never looked for her before or that she was an emo kid, bitter that he was never there when she grew up. Besides, this is Doctor Who, it's always been fantastical, so why can't she have just been created at the beginning of the episode? I had no problem and thought it was good. Jenny's death scene was quite emotional, could see it coming a mile off, but still took nothing away from it. The Doctor's speech to the general was very powerful, especially the "I never would" line, it drew a smile out of me. The ending did take a little away from the power and emotion of the earlier scenes, but still it builds to the future episodes, something I feel Doctor Who doesn't do enough off. So thumbs up from me.
  2. Well that was pooh. Fuck Chelsea. Mind you, it is funny to see Liverpool go out because I'm still a tad pissed about the Quarter's, now the fact that Chelsea or Man Utd will either win a double or one thing is just wrong. I'm pulling for a double for Man Utd, or the Premiership for Chelski because I really, really don't want them anywhere near the Champions League.
  3. Oh the most evil thing ever just happened to me. Champions League Semi-Final, I'm Arsenal against Real Madrid...4-0 to Real at the Bernebeau and William Gallas was sent off to compound an awful game. Second leg at the Emirates and ya know, it's possible but unlikely. I go in 2-0 at half-time and I believe! Second-half it's 3-0...it's 4-0!!! Yay, extra-time beckons and then it gets to the 89th minute and Raul bloody well goes and makes it 4-1 on the night, 5-4 on aggregate and it's over. Why? Why...? Why give me hope and then, then just snatch it away from me?
  4. Just completed the game, loved the ending cut-scene and optional objective futures, but the end credits are hilarious. They have out-takes with the Marvel characters. If you haven't heard it yet, watch the credits, it is brilliant.
  5. ! Any video available, or just pictures? Just pics as far as I looked. The wonders of Limewire has told me 'yes' there is a video. It's those two and another girl. Searching for Raven Riley gives me good vibrations...in my pants...
  6. She's the annoying chick from Clueless. Never thought she was hot until recently...when I realised that she, in fact is. Which now makes her only the third black woman in the world who is good looking!
  7. Fucking hell. Theo's run was immense and to concede a debatable penalty a minute later is so fucking annoying. It probably was a penalty, but it could've gone either way. Not stone-wall like Kuyt's on Hleb, but God going from absolute elation to utter heartbreak is just not fair. Congratulations Liverpool...now beat Chelsea, please. Then play Barcelona in the final, because if you get Man Utd you'll lose and we can't have Man Utd winning the Champions League, and you might, might win against Barca.

    Doctor Who

Just watch it on iPlayer. It'll be there tomorrow probably. The episode was great. When I heard Catherine Tate was going to be in it, I thought it was going to be a terrible idea because she would annoy me. But she was very good in it, and I like her. Great comedy opening with the two nearly bumping into each other for twenty minutes, and the little Adipose are adorable! I want one!
  9. Come on damn it! Please! Please!
  10. Holy shit...fucking awesome game, and the right result. Barnsley defended like gods in this game, and Chelsea just didn't look up for it for a long while, but god that was great. I love seeing Man Utd and Chelsea crash and burn, but in the same day? Fantastic.
  11. "Almost immediately" meaning later on that evening, right? Those comments that were apparantly made in the heat of the moment and yet strangely repeated to two TV stations, radio and the written press? Wenger only retracted them because he realised how big a hole he'd dug for himself, not because he thought he'd overreacted. Same day though. But what was the papers and Sky and BBC's headlines? "Wenger calls for Taylor to be banned for life...oh, yeah and then he retracted them, but he still said he should be banned forever!" was how it was reported for the next week. Straight away when I saw it (and I'd wager the majority of Arsenal fans) I wanted Taylor's head, but after consideration I changed my mind. Now picture Arsene Wenger who works with Eduardo day-in, day-out and on top of that has to do interview, after interview after the game. He was probably seething for a while after it. Also, what is more important; checking up on your player or apologising for a comment? We can be dirty bastards I agree, but I honestly (I can see "bias" comments coming here) think that we are nowhere near as bad as a lot of other teams. Arsenal and Man Utd get kicked, that is the way to stop us as far Blackburn and Birmingham (among a lot of others) are concerned. They aren't being told to injure or kick us off the pitch, but McCleish and Hughes knows their teams have no chance at out-playing us, so they're told to "get stuck in" and you can see it in the way the play. Our game plan is pass the ball and play beautiful football, but I agree, some of our players (I'm looking at Eboue specifically) can be dirty bastards. Cesc can be aggresive, but he's wonderful so that doesn't count. Every club has scummy fans. The "Arsenal-fans" that sent death-threats and sung about the Holocaust are not Arsenal fans as far as I'm concerned.
  12. By "let off", I mean how people are saying that he didn't mean it, so he shouldn't be punished further which seems like the universal response. Those "ridiculous post match comments", would they happen to be the ones he retracted almost immediately afterwards? The people who are talking about lifetime bans are idiots, most fans will agree on that.
  13. No doubt Blatter is a moron, and he wants to make Taylor an example for all dangerous challenges, but Taylor's challenge WAS dangerous. Intent to injure? God no. Intent to 'let Eduardo know he was there'? Clearly. Clearly. That's the problem with football, we see it "up and down the country" but the whole way the Eduardo/Taylor thing has been reported is that, 'Eduardo's career may be over, but think of the effect this has had on Taylor', which is not right. The attitude from a lot of people seems to be that this is a man's game, and players should accept a physical battle and that this tackle specifically was badly timed, but because he wasn't out to injure Eduardo he should be let off. Sorry, he set out to FOUL Eduardo, which looking at the video and pictures as many times as I've seen them (online, in the paper, on the news) he clearly was. In the end it all comes down to the fact that the disciplinary system is a joke. FIFA getting involved is a double-edges sword because, while change won't happen unless the FA are beaten over the head with a club, it makes the English FA look incapable of 'keeping their house in order. The fact that removing a shirt is a yellow card and, in addition to a mis-timed, but absolutely harmless tackle leads to a three game ban is ridiculous. As is Aliadiere's four-game ban for a brush on the face. Dangerous tackles will continue as long as players know they'll "only" get a three-game ban.
  14. Has anybody heard/read what Sepp Blatter has said about Martin Taylor's tackle (and dangerous tackles in general). While he is usually an idiot and utterly ridiculous in nearly all of his comments (and in fact, most of the ones today) I agree with his statement about three games being to short. He says he should be banned for life, which is ridiculous, but some part of what he was saying makes sense.
  15. A Dog's Breakfast - 8/10 A very funny film. Compared to a lot of the big budget comedy films that come out, this is funnier than a hell of a lot of recent ones. Anyone who's seen Stargate (Atlantis) will be familiar with the main actors, David Hewlett and Paul McGillion. Hewlett wrote, directed and stars in and those who've seen Atlantis will know how funny he is, well he's on top form here. Wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I recommend it to anyone.
  16. Fucking hell, that was utterly fantastic. That was one of the best (and at times most frustrating) games I've seen for a while. We should've killed them off earlier, but they are still Milan. I don't care if "they aren't the Milan of old" they are still a great side, and we outplayed them and made them look like Barnsley at time. THIS is why Flamini and Cesc are the best midfield partnership in the world, they were everywhere.
  17. I officially hate most of the morons who play online. Just had a TLC match with a created wrestler (99 overall of course) who did nothing but hit me with a ladder then hit his finisher, rinse and repeat. Then I followed up that fun match with a triple threat against Undertaker and Randy Orton. However I never knew Orton used a spear...or that he picked people up by the throat. He also spent the entire match punching people from outside of the ring. *Sigh*...where's the fun in that?
  18. Wow...that "challenge" from Makelele was disgusting. No intention of getting the ball, what's the likelyhood he gets a ban? That is three-game worthy.
  19. I'm in 2010/11 with Nottingham Forest. Got promoted to the Premiership last season via the play-offs and and pre-season I was predicted to finish 20th. Well, can't get any worse than that. My board says I can have £16m(!) to attempt to avoid relegation or £21m(!!!) to avoid relegation. So of course I bit his hand off and took the £21m and this is what my team looks like now. GK - Scott Flinders (£400k from relegation Palace - 2010) RB - Justin Hoyte (free after Arsenal released him - 2010) LB - Julian Bennett (still with me from League One) CB - Wes Morgan (same as Bennett) CB - Fitz Hall (£5m from relegated West Brom - 2010) DM - Jamel Ait Ben Idir (Bosman from Dijon - 2009) CM - Henri Lansbury (£7.5m from Arsenal - 2010) CM - Fran Merida (£4.5m from Arsenal - 2008) LM - Ishmael Miller (£4.8m from Man City - 2010) RM - Paul Gallagher (£4.3m from Championship Blackburn - 2010) ST - Nathan Tyson (still there from the beginning, still scoring) On top of the I've still got James Perch, Kelvin Wilson, Aaron Davies and Kris Commons all involved in rotation who I've since I started the game, still good at Premiership level. Players who can't make my starting eleven include Kelvin Davis, Carlo Cudicini, Tom Soares and Benni McCarthy. I signed him from fellow Championship side Blackburn the season before, but with me switching to a 4-5-1, he was the striker who was sacrificed. It sort of rotated between him and Tyson last season, but Tyson is firmly established now. Despite the media tipping to go straight back down, I'm in late November and am sitting 9th after (comfortably) beating Premiership champions Everton 2-0 at the City Ground and beating Man Utd 1-0 at Old Trafford (while also having two/three goals disallowed!). Having said that, I still managed to get dumped out of the Carling Cup in the second round away to League One strugglers Luton. In my fourth year and I still haven't got past the sodding second round! EDIT: Oh, and I just beating Champions League hopefuls Sunderland (yes...Sunderland) 6-1 at the Stadium of Light.
  20. So I'm a newbie to this game, heard people talking about it. Anyone care to explain to me what's so great about this game? I'm debating buying it, but with buying comes actually having to dust off the ole PS2 as well. So is it worth my time (and money)?
  21. Oh my god...I'm supporting Ireland at the Eurovision song contest. Screw all the rest. If Dustin doesn't win, the Euro's are rigged.
  22. I'm so confused, it's the best thing ever to see Chelsea all so disappointed and picking up losers medals...but that happiness is over-written by seeing Tottenham win something. The world is wrong.
  23. Bad luck Chelsea, you deserved something...wait, nope, you were actually a little bit shit. It pains me to say it, but congratulations to the dirty, dirty Sp*rs.
  24. Stupid Chelsea. I don't want Tottenham to win because they're a bunch of cunts. But then I don't want Chelsea to win because they're a bunch of cunts. It's a difficult decision to make.
