  1. I'm not excited, mostly because CKY are a load of over-hyped over-rated generic metal morons who only got anywhere because of their association with the scum of the Earth that is Bam fucking Margera.
  2. When I first saw the title of this thread, Johnny Depp was the first to spring to mind, but I've seen most of them so many times it would probably drive me insane, even though he is excellent. So, with that in mind, my choice is Bill Murray. Flow SEAMLESSLY from goofy 80s comedy, through 90s semi-obscurity and into 00s art films, cover all the bases and I could happily enjoy it. Lost in Translation AND Space Jam? How could I do any better?
  3. Try www.vgmusic.com http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00206 (Terra's Theme from FF6) http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00311 (Cosmo Canyon theme from FF7) http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00670 (Main theme from Monkey Island) http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00636 (Not exactly metal, but the Tristram theme from Diablo rocked up a little) I'll track down more later, they're just off the top of my head. Also, check out http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00945 it's a remix from Metal Gear Solid 2, and it's the nearest to a legitimate sounding song on there, very Portishead.
  4. It may have Juggernaut, but according to IMDB he's being played by Vinne fucking Jones. ← Vinnie Jones is fucking great. Granted that's in East End gangster movies, so it'll be interesting to see his transition to comic book movies. He's no Laurence Olivier, but he's seriously fucking menancing and does the silent violent thing really well - and given that Juggernaut has never been the most articulate villian, it could work well. ← Vinnie Jones can pull off British gangster, but there's no way he can pull off Juggernaut. He's intimidating in a legitimate hard man sense, not in a "just fucking huge sense". Maybe it's just that I saw how dwarfed he was by the Big Boss Man at Capital Carnage '98, but I don't think he's big enough to play Juggernaut, and I don't think any amount of prosthetics will make him able to pull it off. I don't see why they didn't just cast a fucking huge guy, because image is really the only important issue with Juggernaut, they just need a big tank of a man who can shout "Where's my brother?!" and threaten to destroy things, it looks like they're going for name value, which really shouldn't matter. Brock Lesnar. Now if he wouldn't make a good Juggernaut, I don't know who would. Also, it's been said that Gambit will never have more than a small role, and I was hoping he'd be a central focus at some point down the line. And apparently Jonathan Rhys-Meyers is looking likely to play him...now I'm not overly familiar with him, but he doesn't look like Gambit. Gambit is easily my favourite X-Man, and I'd hate to see him cast badly, and Rhys-Meyers looks like he'll really need to bulk up and rough himself up a bit to look remotely like Gambit, and then he'd need to pull off the accent and the swaggering charisma...I'm not going to rule that out, but I'm really cautious of this one. That said, Kelsey Grammar as Beast? Fuck yeah.

  6. Countdown used to be a big part of my minimal amount of TV viewing, as it was on during a lot of my breaks at college, and I always watched it with my brother whenever I went up north, and I'm genuinely saddened. I used to poke fun at him all the time, but truth is, Whiteley will be missed, he just seemed like a genuinely nice guy, and was a real British, or at the very least just Channel 4, institution. I was going to make a vowel/consonant joke making RIP, but decided against it. Rest in Peace, Richard Whiteley. I can't believe I'm typing that. Heck, I never even would have guessed he was 61. RIP Richard Whiteley.
  7. I don't know if he had an interview or not, but "really fruity" sounds like an accurate description. I can see why you wouldn't like his voice, it's fairly unconventional, they only people I could begin to compare it to are Loudon Wainwright III, Nick Drake and Tim Buckley, and even then only slightly. Personally, I love it, but again, I can see why you wouldn't. He's a fairly acquired taste, I must admit, I didn't like him at first, but he's really grown on me over the last year or so, to the point where's he one of my favourite artists at the moment.
  8. The White Stripes were superb, I love their new pseudo-goth direction, it's given them fresh life, as they were starting to get a bit stale. GIMMICK CHANGE~! And who else caught Rufus Wainwright's performance today? The man is truly a God.
  9. I was just about to recomend Ailsean's mix, actually, it's available on www.ocremix.org, as are a number of other Final Fantasy remixes, and mixes of pretty much any game under the sun. I heartily endorse the Cosmo Canyon metal remix too.
  10. A Mega Drive-style 2D platformer or scrolling beat 'em up on PS2, putting all the extra power into decent 2D graphics and length of the game instead of 3D realism. Starcraft 2. Make it happen.
  11. Haha, they used to play it on Scuzz's "Antiques Rockshow" all the time. I'm a huge Alice Cooper fan, but even I can admit that he's done some utter shite, and this is the worst of the worst.
  12. I'd pretty much recommend the whole FF7 score, but just for shits and giggles, check out The Black Mages. It's his band, and they play rock/metal covers of Final Fantasy themes.

    Psychobilly

Most of the decent psychobilly bands have already been mentioned, but I suggest you scan through Myspace.com's music section. Normally I hate it, but there's a few fairly good unsigned psychobilly bands in there.

    Manowar

Sacriledge! Nothing is better than Manowar!
  15. It was a great game, brilliant graphics, good concept and great humour, but it was far too bloody difficult!
  16. I've got Ghettopoly, it's great. I also have Star Wars Monopoly, Yorkshire Monopoly and Jersey Monopoly. I don't know why.
  17. No Stooges makes me cry. As does the fact that the rest of the list is shit.
  18. I adore this show. It's like Chris Morris doing children's TV...it has it's moments that aren't overly funny, but for the most part it's just twisted genius. Alongside Drawn Together, I love MTV's schedules now for the first time in ages.
  19. Hahaha, fucking quality. Love it. Thanks for that Tristy *adds to playlist*
  20. Ah, excellent, covers, my personal forté From the title I was about to recommend Nouvelle Vague, but since you've already heard of them, I'll just further endorse them. Along the same lines as Richard Cheese, check out Erich Davison. Most of his albums were released as "The King", but if you're going to search for him, you're better off looking for him under his real name. He's an Elvis impersonator who made a career out of covering other people's songs in the style of Elvis, and he's done a couple of punk covers, most notably "Pretty Vacant". Also, Devilounge are similar to Richard Cheese in that they're a lounge covers act, but the appeal isn't as strong as they only cover Misfits songs and with far less talent, but they're still definitely worth a look. I think it was Craker who did a country cover of The Clash's White Riot, but don't hold me to that, as I can't seem to track it down anywhere. Sparks did a fairly good cover of "We Are The Clash" that was quite different from the original, and Josh Rouse did an excellent acoustic version of "Straight To Hell". I also suggest Marilyn Manson's cover of The Ramones' "The KKK Took My Baby Away", although a lot of people seem to dislike it. I'm sure there are more, but off the top of my head I can't think of any. I'll probably come back to this thread later, though.
  21. Wow, it's a good week for people slagging off established songwriters, ain't it? I find this hilarious, to be honest, Brandon Flowers will never be even a fraction of what Brian Wilson is, even if Brian does have "Smart Girls" and "The Spirit Of Rock & Roll" lurking in his back catalogue.
  22. I'm a fan of Morrissey, but I'll admit that he's a pretentious cunt at times, and I'm also a huge Tori Amos fan, so good on her for speaking her mind at least.
  23. http://fmhq.mustangfreak.us/?fmhq=misc/engine/index That's probably the best place I found for 2D Fighter Maker...it's fairly good, probably better than Mugen, but there's not nearly as many resources available on the web (that I've found anyway), so it's harder work to begin with.
  24. I've tried Mugen, it crashes all the time and half the time won't even get past the character select screen...I'm using 2D Fighter Maker 2002 at the moment, it seems good enough, but I can't find any sites for resources and whatnot.
