  1. Are there any programs around that let you create a 2D Fighting Game? I don't mean generic game makers, I mean programs specifically designed to quickyl and easily create a 2D beat-'em-up. I know about Mugen, but I can't find a working download, and hardly any of the sites for it are in English, and I can't find any similar programs.
  2. I second that! I absolutely adore Darksaber! I've lost my copy of it, though, which infuriates me somewhat.
  3. To be honest, I wouldn't care for a Pink Floyd reunion unless it was with Syd Barrett, and the odds against that are astronomical.
  4. Nick Drake is indeed awesome. I think I'm gonna check this out, it sounds like the kind of thing I'd like.
  5. I've had this recommended to me, but from the sounds of this thread it's completely different to what I've heard...what exactly is it about?
  6. I strongly suggest Painkiller, Jazz Death Metal and fairly abysmal, but I love it all the same. I'm also going to suggest Baby Dayliner, my current favourite band. Fairly obscure, but excellent all the same. They're kind of synthpop/electronica and fronted by someone who sounds like the bastard offspring of Adam Green and Ian Curtis, with some hip hop influences too, and fairly surreal lyrics. They're excellent in every way.

    Motley Crue

I second Shout At The Devil and Dr. Feelgood, they're fairly excellent. Also Too Young To Fall In Love's not bad.
  8. Johnny Depp is superb, he's one of few actors who can convincing play any role. Any other American cast in the lead role of Finding Neverland or Sleepy Hollow would have stuck out like a sore thumb, but 20 minutes in to both films and you forget that Depp's American and just get caught up in the story. That and he went from generic teen actor to "misunderstood" goth poster boy via Edward Scissorhands, which was a fantastic role, and not forgetting Jack Sparrow, one of the greatest characters in recent memory.
  9. I'm not embarassed to like any of the music I listen to, I don't see why I would be, if someone's going to think less of me because I own the Alex Parks album, then screw them.
  10. I've had the Battle Royale book for quite some time, probably over a year now, but haven't got round to reading it all the way through, I had difficulty getting into it...is the graphic novel easier to get in to?
  11. Hmmm....I love The Misfits, but the touring Misfits seem a bit shit. They barely even play Misfits songs any more. But yay anyway.
  12. To further prove a point, this is Natalie: She used to live over here and play "ghost bass" in the now defunct psychobilly band The Rats. She's hawt. And on the left here is Caitlin: Not quite on Natalie levels, but she's fairly cute. Obviously made cuter from singing and playing bass and drums. Obviously.
  13. Again, there was a local band here called Jonny & The Rats who had a girl called Natalie Noise on "ghost" bass, she rocked hard. Apparently she has a new band in Brighton who sound like a female-fronted Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster
  14. Yeah, and she hardly had time to play bass!
  15. I'm no Bloc Party fan, but FFAF are both god-awful and totally unlike anything he's asked for. If you like Poison, G'n'R and Motley Crue then I strongly suggest Skid Row, Brides Of Destruction and LA Guns. Skid Row are fairly generic 80s hair metal, but I adore them, same goes for LA Guns to a lesser extent, Brides Of Destruction are absolutely fantastic, they're like a 21st century take on hair metal, and feature Nikki Sixx of the Crue and Tracii Guns of LA Guns. Here's a little factoid for you: LA Guns were *technically* the prototype for Guns & Roses, as Axl Rose was a former member, and the Guns & Roses name is taken from their stage names, Gun and Rose. Not that interesting, but cool nevertheless. Oh, and I also suggest Hanoi Rocks' later stuff. I find their early material fairly abysmal, but the last album was excellent. They were early influences of the likes of G'n'R and Motley Crue.
  16. Okay, so I'm assuming there's some Neil Gaiman fans in here that could perhaps recommend me some of his work. I was vaguely familiar with the Sandman series, and I'd read the short "Death" story with Tori Amos, and I've read "Good Omens", and I was impressed, but for some reason or another I'd never actively seeked out his work. Anyway, to cut a long story short, in the library today I ended up reading "A Game Of You" and absolutely loved it, so I want to know if anyone can recommend me some of his other material that's similar? Cheers. Also, I'm currently reading "Maus", which I also adore, and I was wondering if you had any graphic novel recommendations in general, not counting Marvel, DC Comics or any manga, because I know enough of that already. Thanks.
  17. Did anyone catch Popworld's feature on The Noise Next Door this morning on Channel 4? Absolutely hilarious, I kid you not. "They've dropped the outrageous hairstyles and gone for a look that many have described as...Busted." "This was all done without stylist intervention...wait...stylists chose their clothes....and their hairstyles....and the song isn't their's either.....but they did choose their own pyjamas. Wait...only the tops."
  18. I agree with the statement brought forth in this topic. Girls with instruments in general are hot, bass is just the height of the hotness. There's a band over here called The Rats that have a girl called Natalie on bass occassionally, and she's not particularly attractive, but stick her in platforms and give her a bass, and you definitely would. And yes, this is one of few times you'll see me replying to a thread about girls. And using the phrase "you definitely would", for that matter.
  19. Well, it depends on the song. If it's a ballad, then the lyrics are important, because they need to express real emotion. If it's a more upbeat song, then the lyrics are less important than the music. I was going to write a lengthy response to this, but that pretty much sums it up
  20. I'd stick an apostrophe between the "e" and the "s" for a start, or just change it to "Love Is". It might catch my eye if I saw it, but I certainly wouldn't buy it. If anything, that cover would turn me off.

    The O.C.

I'm the only person in my class at college who doesn't like The OC...I watched one episode and was just turned off immediately, I see nothing special in it at all. I can't relate to a bunch of American rich kids in California, sorry.
  22. The only Atreyu song I'll recommend is "Don't Laugh" and maybe "You Give Love A Bad Name".
  23. I won't even begin to rip this apart... I don't really get the problem, to be honest, everyone knows that there are trailers played before the films and makes their choice as to whether they're gonna turn up at the start or guesstimate the end of the trailers, it's not exactly going to change anything. And besides, I like trailers.

    1. MSN/E-mail (fiftysixtears@gmail.com) 2. Techno/Electro, Metal, Classic Rock, Indie, Punk, Classical, Rap, Jazz, New Wave, Goth, Trip Hop, Folk, Blues...I think that about covers it. 3. Varies, but most consistently after 8pm, but during the day now and then on weekdays, and late morning on weekends
  25. I've heard that there are some gaping flaws between the books and movie which is causing all the dislike between people who have read the books. ← Well that's to be expected, you can't cram 5 (long) books into an under 2 hour film, it's not possible. That and the fact that most of the humour of "Hitch-hiker's" comes from the descriptions, which works in the book, and to an extent in the narration on radio, but is lost in film. Theoretically they could have given it the LOTR treatment, but I doubt it would have been profitable to release extended versions or whatever because, especially outside the UK, it's a fairly cult phenomenon.
