  1. Luigi's Mansion 3 and Pokemon Sword/Shield are the two games mentioned by Nintendo in its advertisement. I'm guessing that we might get a release window for the rumoured Skies of Arcadia remaster too. What I'd really like, though, is an announcement of SNES games on Switch Online. EDIT: Oh, and I think Overwatch for Switch is likely.
  2. A Nintendo Direct presentation lasting approximately 40 minutes will air tomorrow.
  3. Djokovic has pulled out of the tournament through injury after being set to lose to Stan Wawrinka. He got booed, which I think is poor form from the crowd.
  4. Jo Konta has reached the Quarter-Finals, meaning that she's got to at least that stage in every Grand Slam. She's often lacked the killer instinct to go all the way, but it would be great if she went and did it.
  5. Blair Witch is OK, at least as a sort of mean average of its parts. There are some moments that work well and the story is fine, while the general atmosphere suits it. On the other hand, it's a bit too easy to get lost and end up fumbling about to trigger the next part of the game. What's very clear is that the developers have drawn a lot of inspiration from PT, especially towards the end of what's only a three-to-four-hour game. It's pulled off less deftly than in PT, and it's a bit overcooked at times, but it does the job. All in all, it's a game of the ilk I'm expecting to see more of on Game Pass moving forward - brief and worth a go, but never likely to be an all-time classic.
  6. Hitman's great, although I'm wondering if you can use the GWG version to get the old levels in Hitman 2. I know you can if you buy both games, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't give GWG owners that privilege.
  7. Lomachenko ought to win quite handily. Most people see him as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world and, from what I can tell, there isn't anything he doesn't do considerably better than Campbell.
  8. Did the others attack when its tail was up?
  9. It unlocked about 15 minutes ago, so get downloading if you can.
  10. I used to get really excited to see footage of entrances in wrestling games, but I'm a lot less bothered now. I think part of that is because there's only one main WWE game each year, but it's more a case of improvements in graphics and sound being much more marginal these days. It used to be amazing seeing gradual developments, such as proper entrance themes, Titantron videos and crowd reactions, but we're at a stage now where it's all there.
  11. Man City will be feeling lucky with their group.
  12. I enjoyed it a lot more the second time round. Then again, we all have popular games we don't quite "get", as the "hot takes" thread will show.
  13. Yakuza 7 has been announced and it's going to have turn-based combat. The developers want to try something new but are open to changing it back in later games if it doesn't work out.
  14. I would say so, given that you'll miss some big story points otherwise. It's also more fun.
  15. I found it reasonably good when I first played it, but, after replaying a chunk of each Rocksteady Batman game very recently, I found it to be the worst of the bunch. There's fun to be had, but it's interspersed with a not insubstantial number of tedious sections. The title character is also quite dull for the most part.
  16. The Mega Drive version is better, I think. I suppose the SNES version is more of a straight platformer, whereas the Mega Drive edition has an action-platformer feel to it. The latter also had what most consider to be a better soundtrack and art style.
  17. I've looked at what the fit and proper persons test involves and it really doesn't add up to much. What sort of new measures could help sift out the predatory owners? One problem I see is that some owners appear to be eager and financially strong, but they quickly lose interest when they realise that they can't buy immediate success and high-scale profitability. It's quite jarring when you look at how many wealthy people have promised the world to a club and then held it to ransom as soon as reality kicks in.
  18. Is this one of the rejected spinoffs from the King Kong franchise?
  19. September's Playstation Plus games are Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders III.
  20. It was apparently announced at a Gamestop conference that the Mega Drive versions of Aladdin and The Lion King are being remastered for consoles. Offer a fair price and I'll be all over that.
  21. And against League Two opposition, no less.
  22. What I like about football is that each club has its own identity, its own heroes and its own atmosphere. People like Don Masson, James Coppinger and Laurie Cunningham may not mean much in the mainstream, but they're heroes among their respective clubs and will have stories passed down the generations about them. Each stadium has its own distinctive feel that makes it seem like home to its club's supporters, even if it might appear to be a dumping ground to others. With Bury, and possible Bolton, that's a small piece of football heritage lost. While it isn't the same thing, I hope a phoenix club manages to make its mark and keep the fans together.
  23. It makes me worry for the future. A lot of Premier League clubs would probably like to turn the lower leagues into playgrounds for their youth teams, and I hope this isn't the first big milestone in the gradual disintegration of the English football pyramid.
