  1. Headline at yahoo.com: "5 iPad apps that cats love." Guessing it's a slow news day.

"'Hot or not?' Trust me, you're beautiful

The rise in "Am I Ugly" videos on YouTube points to a deeper problem for teens, a 15-year-old says." And that was on CNN.com in the third from the top biggest story on the site.

  2. Alright, I gotta give credit where credit is due...having a SUDOKU PUZZLE as the final boss of a game is certainly unique.

Well considering the game was almost entirely puzzle and text based, and the number 9 was a key plot point throughout the whole thing...I guess it's appropriate.

I had a Sudoku game where the final boss was a Sudoku. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT!

  3. So, 999 kicks ass. If you have a DS, an enjoyment of Point And Clickemup/Escape the Room games, and a desire to read a visual novel, then this game fits your very specific interests!

  4. I had a dream I was failing two classes. I graduated college about 2 years ago. I think my subconscious just likes to fuck with me.

For about a year and a half after I graduated I had dreams that I was getting phone calls from professors telling me that I'm failing classes because I wasn't attending.

For about 3 years I had dreams I overslept before class at college. I never went to college.

  5. Citizens of EWB! Has anyone here played 999 for the DS? If so, how is it? I've heard mixed things, but I'm a fan of Point And Clickemup games...

It's near perfection. At least it was to me. If you've got the patience to do a bit of trial/error then you're so well rewarded.

  6. In continuing with my trend of playing games about 2 years after they're relevant, I've just discovered Rhythm Heaven. Go to hell, Lockstep.

  7. And now I have "Monsters Lead Such Interesting Lives" stuck in my head. And you know what? I'm happy about it.

  8. Driving down to Portland tomorrow. That means I will be in close proximity to the greatest place on the planet, Voodoo Donut. Suck it, world, I'm going to have Maple Bacon Donuts

Wait, doughnuts that taste like bacon? I don't think I'd like that.

No no, Quom. They don't taste like bacon. They are donuts that are glazed with maple frosting...and then two large strips of bacon are placed on top.

voodoodoughnut.com, they have the most insane lineup

  9. It seems sorta....missing something. One of the charms of the early RE games is that even with everything going on, they kept a sort of ridiculous campy tone to them that made them very fun to play. RE4 absolutely embraced this and as a result was the best game, while RE5 scaled it back and I feel suffered for it. This one, it seems like they're trying to make it all gritty and serious, and again, I think it shifts everything away from what made the RE games so much fun. Plus, there appears to be no Wesker. And without Wesker, RE is nothing but a shell.
  10. As far as I can tell, Seattle owns no snow plows. I'm trapped in my apartment, save for the grocery store and bank and coffee shop and thai restaurant and millions of other things within a 3 minute walking distance.

I live on a hill as well, but it's of the Capitol variety so I'm right next to everything awesome. I live literally 1 block off Broadway.

  11. At the video store today, I saw someone purchase a copy of "The Adventures of Pluto Nash". I want you to just think about that.

I prefer to not think about that. Because then I'll have to remember that that movie was made..

  12. I came Elerium-115. I grew up playing the original X-Com on my grandpa's old MS:DOS, so when I discovered it was on Steam a few months ago, I jumped on that shit and have been reliving what I genuinely consider one of the best games ever. After the announcement that the "new" X-Com was going to be an FPS, I was pretty disappointed...but this makes up for it. I cannot WAIT for this to come out. Everything is wonderful again.
  13. I blame Ethereals and Sectopods for the outage.

  14. at 12:05, a man called from Detroit to drunkenly ramble, with my friend from Detroit snickering in the background. The phrase "Vagina Kaleidoscope" was used. Best New Years ever.

  15. Anyone here play Sonic Generations? It's on sale for $10, is it worth picking up or is it a typical shit sonic game?

For $10 it's probably worth it. Where is it being sold for that much?

Yeah - Steam. And the game is brilliant - the classic segments are clearly the best, but I never felt the 3D stuff was all that bad and here it gets a good juxtaposition.

  16. A very merry crumbles to everybody!

  17. My brother got me an Atari. I officially win the holidays.

My sister found an NES at a garage sale for me with Mario/Duck Hunt, Punch Out (Not Tyson), and Batman. Took me forever just to set it up to my tv. I felt like an idiot since it's really easy to do. :(

  18. Everyone with Steam should go purchase and play X-COM: UFO Defense right now. Best strategy game ever? It's quite possible.

I remember as a little kid playing it on my grandpas old DOS computer and thinking it was a very difficult game. And now I have it and I realize...it actually IS a very difficult game! Fucking Chryssalids.

  19. I'm honestly trying to think of who can stop Jon Jones, and I'm having trouble coming up with anybody. The guy is on an absolute tear. It's cliche, but he really does have so many ways to finish a fight And the absolute scariest thing is that he's only 24, so he probably hasn't even hit his prime yet.
  20. Amazing finish. Also jesus christ that arm break was very difficult to watch.
  21. Oh my god the Korean Zombie is a dangerous fighter. So much for the big hometown return...
  22. RIP Gamepro Magazine. I will poor a bottle of First Aid Spray out in your honor.

I'm neither canadian nor grieving. I'm an engineer, so I don't think words good properly.

  23. You know what game I miss? Logical Journey Of The Zoombinis. I wish they'd release it on Steam.
