Las Vegas is really digging into the sports scene. I never thought I'd see a hockey team there. At least a baseball team seems a bit more realistic.

It definitely ranks up there. There was absolutely no reason they should have lost that one, but it wouldn't have really mattered because they also lost last night. Now you could argue that the motivation to win wasn't as strong last night, but I just don't understand what has happened to them. I mean goaltending is an issue for sure but what else? Yes, their core is aging but they're still playing better than just about every other person not named Connor. Oh wow, I just saw that tweet. I feel like Sully is going next and I'm not sure I agree with that.

It's not official but he has hinted at it, even before the announcement from Chicago. I wouldn't doubt it though with all his health issues. Also my team has missed the playoffs for the first time in 16 years. I know our core is aging but I didn't think we'd fallen this far. Too many key games slipped through.

Oh I am totally in. I mean I was anyway because it's FF but that definitely cements my purchase.

Final Fantasy VIII. It was my first. It was like love at first completion. It's probably the game I've beaten the most times.

Yeah the Hunting Log stuff is amazing for leveling up alt jobs except for the ones that don't have them...but honestly with those jobs it's pretty simple to just spam dungeons/fates and they level very quickly as well. I finally got the character I'm using now to 50 this past week and unlocked my Samurai. I'm honestly not a huge fan of the original jobs. I love SAM, GNB and SAGE so much though.

Kinda want it. I've only played an hour or so of the game so far. I'm going to play the hell out of it this weekend.

It's part of the main story so just keep doing the story and you'll get it. The issue with it being an old game is that you'll be a much higher level than the main quest, especially if you do side quests. I think I was like level 25 with my newest characters doing level 15 main quests because I leveled so quickly.

So honestly, what's the sense? I mean it's your choice but the story barely gets going at 60, and you're wasting time with a game you'll never finish? Seems strange to me but you do you.

Apparently you can have up to 8 on any data center now. They've lifted the "World" restriction. Though they haven't updated their "Rules and Policies" page since 2020 as that still states 1 per world.

Somebody did the same in the OOTP thread and I have never been more outraged

I use a lot of them in WoW but the game is built for them. FF isn't really a game that I feel you need add ons to play, except I do like my DPS meter that I totally don't have. (Please don't tell Yoshi)

Full disclosure, I wasn't sure anyone here would actually get the memes because most people are casual gamers more than they follow or participate in this type of gaming. But the memes were so good to me, that I felt like I had to share in case one person who does understand finds them funny. I'm all about that one guy

The world first race for the new Ultimate in FFXIV ended in controversy yesterday when a member of their team (who somebody pissed off apparently) released a screen shot of their kill which used illegal mods to allow the player to zoom out further than intended, making a lot of the mechanics in the fight much easier than they should have been. Mods have always been a part of MMO's but Yoshi P has hard a hard stance against them and they are very much bannable offences. But who cares about that right? We're just here for the Memes. I actually started watching this on Prime awhile ago. I like most types of these kind of shows. Criminal Minds, Law & Order, Numb3rs, etc. I'd even throw House into this which was medical mystery of sorts. My wife watches Investigative Discovery all the time and I enjoy mostly listening to those shows because I really don't need to see it to imagine it in my mind from what's going on. I have never seen Pysch though I definitely want to see it. I also really like to go back and watch all of the L&O shows from the beginning but they're not streaming anywhere. Amazon has some but they start at like Season 10 I think.

I opened up New World for the first time in quite awhile. It came out during a downtime in WoW so when it first came out I poured a lot of time into it for the first couple weeks and then basically never touched it again. I think it's one of those games that's fun in short bursts and one that I won't really put any serious time into it. I basically had an hour before I went to bed last night which isn't enough time to do much of anything in either of the two main games I play, so I just opened it and did a few quests, gathered a few things for crafting and that was about it. I will probably do some of the dungeons and stuff when I get to it...but it's not really anything I feel the need to stay caught up on.

To be fair Montreal has had some shitty luck. The one guy they could count on for goals just went out for the season. My wife is thrilled. She wants Bedard on her team, because of course she did. I'd be all for my Pens to tank as well. Brian Burke once trashed the Pens for doing nothing but "winning the lottery" when it came to their turn around (which is mostly true) and now it would be amusing to see him in the same spot against his aging superstars.
