  1. The start of Citizen Kane is abit of a classic to look at. Maybe Irreversible or a Tarkovsky film for something abit more out there? Tokyo Story too?
  2. Jovetic just another missed opportunity by Wenger. Higuain, Jovetic, Rooney and Suarez we were 'in for'. We'll get none of em.
  3. Chokervic much! He's played awful, but the British press will ignore that and say Murray has played the greatest tennis ever seen ever. And the knighthood beckons.
  4. That's Federer into the semis at least then?
  5. Beethoven and Mahler's 9th Symphonies are essential. THE greatest two pieces of music in existence.
  6. Came in expecting Mickey Mouse...
  7. Everything by Nick Drake and Tim Buckley's first 7 albums for a start. Robert Wyatt's Rock Bottom (gorgeous, melodic, jazzy, weirdy perfection. Ideal for fans of Caravan, Roxy Music and obviously Soft Machine.) Everything by a rapper called Milo. The most underrated rap artist today. (Intellectual stuff mixed with nerdy references. Not about killing people and bitches etc.) Lloyd Cole and The Commotions - Rattlesnakes (it's like Prefab Sprout and The Smiths, but better and with more namedropping!)
  8. Booked 3 years worth of NJPW on TEW, but no new stars created! Help!

  9. Wish I could change my name on here!

On the real, though, it's a Captain Beefheart album, isn't it? That's awesome.

      Skummy

It certainly is. On both counts.

  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycdcYlSUAWs - best promo vid in years, better build in 4mins than the 3 years Vince has wasted... Goosebumps, even if the match will be shit...

^ Seriously? It's implying his loss put him in a mental and demotivational rut and because of that he got divorced.

How did you not get that?

I did get that, and it is straight-up hilarious, I love it.

3 years wasted by Vince? Yeah, that record breaking Wrestlemania was such a waste.

  11. The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie Red State Black Dynamite Perfect Blue Begotten Subway Week End Satantango
  12. Metal Gear Solid and The Legend of Zelda. Zelda would make some great epics, kind of like the LOTR films in look. MGS would possibly work better as a TV series, as they are really deep. Maybe MGS1 could be turned into a film successfully?
  13. Arvo Part alll the wayyyy!
  14. The series is great if you can stand Cousins' voice. Being a film and screenwriting student at university and being a film student at college while it was first being aired made essays alot easier, even if the lectures were pointless. It's a great reference point and he goes into significant detail for some essential aspects. Worth a rewatch I think.
  15. Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid)Link (The Legend of Zelda)John Marston (Red Dead Redemption)Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)Nathan Drake (Uncharted)Oliver (Ni No Kuni)Crash Bandicoot (Crash Bandicoot)Crono (Chrono Trigger)Gordon Freeman (Half Life)Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney)
  16. The American - Corbin Persona - Bergman Fallen Angels - Kar Wai Night on Earth - Jarmusch My Neighbour Totoro - Miyazaki some good stuff here. Alot of different stuff. I'm SamCookeMate on letterboxd so look through my ratings if you like!
  17. Bought the Wizard Edition in CEX today for £130. Already bought normal edition on release day. How much could I get online for either?
  18. Its pretty much a companion piece to Loveless and if this had come out in '93-'97 then this is what they would have expected to here I think. There could be a backlash around it sounding a little too much like Loveless, although there is experimentation in the last three tracks. I feel that if critics are going to give it any criticism, they'll say that it is too similar to Loveless. I do not recall that being a bad thing at all (Loveless is a 9+ IMO) but you know what critics are like... Fuck em!
  19. I thought the King of Limbs was a fine album. A lot of critics dismissed it entirely straight away, hopefully they wont with m b v. It's miles ahead of Isn't Anything, but is that just because it sounds more like Loveless? Possibly, but yeah this new album is amazing.
  20. Takes more time to appreciate than Loveless, is it better? Is that actually possible? Maybe in another 5-10 listens? Maybe?!?!
