I'm not holding out much hope that anyone I voted for has made it in.

I actually thought this was the case with 2008 - I certainly had no problem with an Ashley Young type beating a Thomas Helveg type, for example. You do have to keep in mind though that a player will always be slower with the ball running than without it.

It's tragic that Silent Hill 2 is so low down on this list - for me, it has the 2nd best story and definitely the best 'psychology' of any game I've ever played.

Eurodance (which is pretty much the same thing as europop) is very much still alive, just not as popular in the U.K. as it once was.

I see folk has been somewhat lost in the shuffle so far here. The main distinction between it and country music is that the former term mainly applies to Southwestern American genres that have 'country' as a catch-all term. It has its roots partly in roots folk and gospel music, good examples being any of the Hank Williams dynasty, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline and the Dixie Chicks; folk music isn't limited to one area of the world in its use - even 'world music' (a terrible term for a genre) is sometimes included in it. Thematically, a lot of the songs concern a simpler time and a lot of traditional music would be under the umbrella of folk; it goes back hundreds of years and predates classical music (though that term ought to strictly define a period of music rather than an entire genre). Then there is folk rock/popular folk, which has its roots in traditional music. Famous examples would be Bob Dylan, The Pogues, Clannad, Fairport Convention and Donovan.

Apart from Bowie and Creedance, it's been pretty blasé from my point of view so far.

Professor Farnsworth, followed by Amy. She has some surprisingly good lines. My favourite recurring characters are Richard Nixon's head and Hedonism Bot.

Muse - a good live band, but not quite the band a lot of people seem to think they are; comparisons to Radiohead are very unfavourable for them.

I second that motion for Substance. I have to say though I only really liked one track from Waiting For The Sirens' Call, and that was 'Guilt Is A Useless Emotion'; give me 'True Faith' or 'Confusion' over the newer material anyday,

I avoided them like the plague at high school (most people I hung out with seemed to like them, but I digress); now I don't really have much of an opinion on them, though I do realize with hindsight there's a hell of a lot worse out there of their ilk.
