  1. Love: Machete Like: Conair Hate: Spy Kids 3-D Hate-like: I don't know. Most of the stuff I've seen from him I either liked or disliked. Lock-Up maybe.
  2. The former Dio & Rainbow and current Last In Line Bassist Jimmy Bain has reportedly passed away at the age of 68 according to several sources within the industry. These sources are former Dio and AC/DC drummer who posted about it on his Facebook page as well as Diana DeVille who works for Wendy Dio's Niji Management on her Instagram page. So far there hasn't been any confirmation by his current band or his family. But there have been several tributes by musicians he knew including former Dio and Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich, Dave Mustaine and former Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell. Jimmy Bain was born on December 19th 1947 in Newtonmore in the Highland council area of Scotland. He played in several amateur bands there as a teen. When his parents relocated to Canada he joined them only to return to Scotland shortly afterward. He then joined the band Harlot 1974 and remained with them until he was asked by Ritchie Blackmore to join Rainbow in 1975. With them he recorded the studio album "Rising", which was released in 1976, as well as the live albums "On Stage" (1977) and "Live In Germany 1976" (1990). His stint in the band wasn't long though as he was fired by Blackmore in 1977. In the summer of 1978 he founded the band "Wild Horses" with former Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson. They released two albums in the early 80s for which in addition of playing the bass he also provided lead vocals. During that time he also wrote songs for several artists including Phil Lynott' for his two solo albums. He even played bass on one of the songs on Thin Lizzy's "Black Rose: A Rock Legend" album. He was also featured on Gary Moore's Dirty Fingers album that was recorded in 1981 but released 1983 in Japan and 1984 in Europe. In late 1982 he was asked by his former Rainbow bandmate Ronnie James Dio to join his solo band simply named Dio. He remained with the band until 1989 and recorded a total of 4 studio albums with them. While with the band he and guitarist Vivian Campbell also came up with the idea to start a charity music project similar to Band Aid and USA for Africa but with Rock musicians. They forwarded the idea to Dio and founded the project Hear 'n Aid which produced the single "Stars" that featured musicians from bands such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dokken, Quiet Riot, Blue Öyster Cult, Queensyche, Ozzy Osbourne, W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister, Mötley Crue, Journey, Yngwie Malmsteen and Nightranger. After leaving Dio he appeared on the debut album of the band World War III together with his former Dio colleague Vinny Appice and soon to be Dio guitarist Tracy G. He re-joined Dio for a short amount of time between November 1992 and March of 1993 but left the band without recording any records. In 1996 he tried to get his own band "The Key" off the ground without much luck. He rejoined Dio again in 1999 and recorded the albums "Magica" (2000) and "Killing The Dragon" (2002) before leaving again in 2004. In 2005 he crossed paths again with Appice as they worked together on a project called "3 Legged Dogg" which also featured Vinny Appice as well as members of Lynch Mob and Quiet Riot. Most recently he joined his former Dio bandmates Vivian Campbell, who hasn't played with a metal band since leaving Dio in 1985, and Vinny Appice plus Lynch Mob singer Andrew Freeman in the band "The Last In Line" to perform songs they wrote together with Dio. Their debut album is scheduled to be released on February 19th via Frontiers Music. These are two of the songs from their upcoming album: Martyr: Devil In Me:
  3. Rage have just released the music video to their new song "My Way":
  4. The forgotten Black Sabbath singer Tony Martin (from 1987 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1997) attended the unveiling of a memorial plaque dedicated to Cozy Powell (who was mostly known for his stint in Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and The Jeff Beck Group and who had stints in other bands and artists such as Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, the Michael Schenker Group, Brian May, Robert Plant, the short lived Emerson, Lake & Powell as well as Yngwie Malmsteen). Black Sabbath guitarist and founding member Tony Iommi was there as well. In recent years there was some tension between the two about some unflattering passages about Martin in Iommi's autobiography. But according to Martin he was greeted very warmly by Iommi and they had their first conversation of any lenght in 15 years. He also says that he and Iommi may very well be working together soon. We don't now what they will be working on and the "may" indicates that they might not work together at all, but to me this is good news. I've always been a fan of the Martin-Era Sabbath albums and I think it is a shame that this incarnation of the band received to little attention. I think the most likely reason for them to work together is to provide bonus material on the 4 remaining yet to be re-released and re-mastered Sabbath Albums featuring Tony Martin. Of course I'd love for them to work on new music together whether that be for a Iommi solo release, Martin's next solo album that he is still working on or maybe even a Heaven & Hell style reunion with musicians from that era. But I doubt that will happen since their is not enough interest in this era of the band. Still, as I said above, this is good news to me. If you want to know what Sabbath with Martin sounded like: and
  5. It can work on the big screen. The Dredd movie from 2012 was good for a dumb action movie. Kinda like the Raid with big guns instead of martial arts.
  6. Black Sabbath have announced that they're going to release a CD named "The End" which will include 4 outtakes from the "13" Sessions as well as 4 Live Tracks. It will only be sold at the merch stands during their "The End" tour. Tracklist: 01. Season Of The Dead 02. Cry All Night 03. Take Me Home 04. Isolated Man 05. God Is Dead? (Live Sydney, Australia 4/27/13) 06. Under The Sun (Live Auckland, New Zealand 4/20/13) 07. End Of The Beginning (Live Hamilton, ON Canada 4/11/14) 08. Age Of Reason (Live Hamilton, ON Canada 4/11/14)
  7. I'm kinda surprised to see Mad Max nominated. But other than that it's very predictable again.
  8. There have been a lot of changes in the band since last you saw them. Victor Smolski, who has been with the band since he helped save it in 1999 when everyone but their singer/bassist Peavy left to form the alternative rock group Sub7even and has since become the creative driving force of the band and probably influenced their sound more than any other guitar player they had, as well as their drummer Andre Hilgers, who has been with them since 2007, have both left the band in the spring of last year. According to Peavy him and Victor where never that close privately and their professional had eroded in recent years since. Apparently he became hard to work with in the studio and was unable to include the other members into his creative process. Victor on the other hand cites missing feedback and inspiration from the other band members as the main reason for the split. Which I find weird. I was under the impression that Peavy was happy with Victor doing most of the heavy lifting when it came to songwriting and that likewise Victor liked the creative freedom he had in the band. But that apparently changed in recent years. It looks like all the little problems they had accumulated until it became impossible for them to work together anymore. Which leads us to another thing that happened: Refuge Refuge is the 1987-1994 line-up consisting of Peavy, Manni Schmidt and Chris Efthimiadis that was reunited in 2014. After Peavy and Chris buried the hatched from their split in 1999 they were asked to play a gig during a small festival organized by the owners of the rehearsal space that them and a lot of other local bands used back in the day using the "Tres Hombres" moniker. It was supposed to be a one time gig. Somehow word got out, a lot of fans came to the gig, the offers started to fly in and they decided to officially re-unite. This isn't a full-time thing though. Both Chris and Manni still have day jobs and they've said that they're doing this for the old time's sake. Which brings us back to Rage: This also seems to have contributed to the split. First of all you couldn't find anything about the Tres Hombres gig on the official Rage homepage and social media channels. Which is strange since this line-up is considered by many fans to be the definitive line-up. Also, according to Peavy, when he wanted Chris and Manni to play with Rage during their 30th anniversary tour later that year both Victor and Andre disagreed and Peavy had to threaten to quit the tour for them to concede. But Rage do still exist and have a new line-up consisting of guitarist and long time fan Marcos Rodríguez as well as drummer Vassilios "Lucky" Maniatopoulos, who is a student of Chris Efthimiadis and was also his drum tech in the 90s. They will release a new EP later this month and a new album in May. They said that they're not going to ignore the musical evolution of the band in the last 15 years but that they're trying to make the new songs less experimental and polished and more raw and straight forward as they did in the late 80s and particularly the mid-90s. As a result of that they're going to play a lot of the songs from that era live that they ignored when Victor was in the band. So I hope that you are down with that.
  9. I was actively fighting against the Brotherhood and the Institute during the Batttle Of Bunker Hill and neither of them turned against me.
  10. The only real way to watch star wars is to pretend the prequels aren't a thing. Disney seems to be happy to do so. Yes, there are some redeeming qualities to Episode III but that movie alone isn't worth watching Episodes I and II.
  11. Can someone explain to me why it is called "Machete Order"? Some kind of reference to the movie staring Danny Trejo?
  12. Judging by his Wikipedia page he was probably deleted because he served time in prison for getting into a fight with two police officers. But since he returned in early december for LLE he should be added back into the game.
  13. I found most of the outfits to be rather ugly. Main quest line spoilers I think I was about level 24 or 25 when I finally got to Diamond City. But that is mainly due to my efforts of avoiding the side quests and exploring the whole map. Which turned out to be a mistake because I got sent to layers I had already cleared all the time. Main quest line spoilers
  14. How do you manage to build all this stuff? Whenever I'm trying to build anthing it looks like shit because half of it is floating in the air due to the ground not being level. I can't even build a goddamn fence around my crops! And since you only can host a maximum of 20 people I don't really see the point. All I did was put up some of these pre-build wooden shacks and beds, water and power suply, some torrets and a couple guard posts, some food and one large room without a door where I keep all of my stuff and Power Armor. That is pretty much it. And for some reason Sanctuary has never been attacked yet. Is that supposed to not happen?
  15. You basically have to disregard anything from the Expended Universe as it is not official cannon anymore. And to be honest I'm quite happy about that.
  16. But he has done nothing since and looking at the current state of TNA I doubt they're going to do any big co-promotion deals with Wrestle-1 anytime soon. But at least we can agree on getting rid of Akebono.
  17. How was Mutoh important? They co-promoted a show in Japan and he did some one-off matches but IIRC he wasn't involved in any major angles during his short stint. From what I understand the main goal with these updates is to trim the data as much as possible. If that is done we can talk about adding certain people back in on a month-to-month basis if they start to appear in the regions playable in the game more often. I'm afraid making exceptions now will start a snowball effect in which everyone demands exceptions because their favorite UK/EU/JP wrestler was in random indy promotion no. 3548349554 for a cup of coffee.
  18. My guess would be that about half of them probably didn't even enjoy the movie trilogy.
  19. In some rare cases I feel they're just f*cking with us when it comes to the credits. Like the extended edition for LotR where they put the name of every member of the Tolkein fanclub in it that joined before a certain date or something like that. Ended up being about 26 or 27 minutes long. Who watches that?
  20. Does anyone here actually watches the credits? I only do it for the Marvel movies and other superhero movies that might have a mid- or post-credit scene or if there is a nice song playing during the credits (like "Song of the Lonely Mountain" for the first Hobbit movie). I know it is disrespectful and all that but I just can't be bothered to sit through them most of the time.
  21. It's a shame. I'm not a big STP fan but I like the two Velvet Revolver albums he was involved in. But if you have followed his career ever since he was fired from STP, or his career as a whole really, it shouldn't come as a surprise.
  22. How about a new game in the Jedi Night series? Or a remake of part 2.
