BUT WHY

Currently sitting here at 3 words.  I've unlocked 3 letters, but none are in the right place and NONE of the letters are in the 2nd spot.  I've ruled out 4 vowels as well, seemingly making it a lock that the word has to include the 5th and it's probably in the 2nd spot because the consonants I might've put there have been ruled out too.

But all these clues have confounded me, I might well smack my head whenever I figure out the answer because right now nothing is coming to me.  If there was a "Give Up" button I'd have clicked it and taken the L, wonder if the loss will register tomorrow when I've left the puzzle unanswered.  Damn.

They've already said it will "initially" remain free-to-play, so expect to see it behind a paywall by the end of the year. Nobody spends 7 figures to give something away for free.
