Were the two words Agora and Aroma? I failed yesterday and it told me it was agora (which I refuse to accept is a word), but then on the radio this morning they said it was aroma yesterday. I then did this mornings having forgotten that until guess 5, at which point I realised it was clearly todays. Getting very lost, and my average score is dying...

Apparently, yesterday's word was originally agora, but NYT changed it to aroma when it was purchased? Or at some other time it was changed because agora was too obscure, apparently.

If you're still playing off the same webpage, I guess it may not have changed because the words are/were saved into the code and just refresh automatically or something like that (I dunno shit about coding). Today's word was not agora or aroma though, no.
