I think I've probably had my allotted amount of EWB wisdom recently, but as you might have seen from the Nintendo thread I've bought a Switch for the kids for Christmas. I'm looking to get a Pokemon game for them, and was looking at Sword or Shield, but then saw that Let's Go Eevee (and Pikachu) feature co-op multiplayer, the old animated setting, plus Eevee is my daughters favourite anyway. Is there any sensible reason for me to not just get that?

This is a bit late buuuuut.

It's quite simplified but fun, I enjoyed it myself as a good shot of nostalgia. You can see them in the wild, and when you run into them you throw a pokeball instead of fighting them like in Pokemon Go. Then there are battles that are more traditional but it's a much more laid back experience. You can dress up your Eevee, it'll follow you in the real world, etc. - and eventually if you do get them Sword and Shield there's an NPC that will give you an Eevee in that game if you have save data from it on your system in addition to the ability to put them in Pokemon Home and bring them into that game as well.
