Clerks 2

Saw it again tonight. Just noticed how cool it was to have the Alanis song towards the end, since it was kinda like having one more cameo from a VA regular. And if Jeff Anderson doesn't get more non-Kevin Smith roles after this flick, Hollywood fucking sucks.

The fact that I've only seen him in the Clerks movies is a traveshamockery of justice. He's the perfect smart-aleck, and a good actor to boot. Give that man the world, I say!

At least they unveiled at NewsAskew.com that Jeff Anderson's writing/directing/starring effort Now You Know will be getting a DVD release around the time Clerks II hits the DVD shelves...so there's some more Randal.

I liked it. Any time Randal and Elias were in the same scene, it was PURE comedy gold. I originally thought it was going to be a shameless cash in, but I revoke that comment. It was good.

Was a funny film. Saw it midweek. I went with people who hadn't seen the first film, but had seen a few other Kevin Smith films (Mallrats, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back and Dogma etc.). It's nothing amazing. I sort of give it the "Chasing Amy" kind of look. That it was funny, but nothing overly great. I often find people overrate Kevin Smith, whether you like it or not his best stuff always comes from the base level (The Jay 'tucked back penis-mangina' in Clerks 2 is a good example...probably the funniest part of the film. Totally base level and totally random). I much prefered Randal in the first film. He made it. Here he just seemed "Randal by numbers". A couple of his rants were funny (Taking back "Porch Monkey"..."Lord Of The Rings"), but nothing all that amazing. Extra props for the inclusion "Sheeny" though. It was an alright film, with some really funny moments, but not all that much that you can remember afterwards. Though it's got "Sheeny" back into mine and my friends everyday vocabulary. SHEENY-BOPPER!!

Been laid up this weekend with a cold and I've watched the dvd at least 8 times now. it's absolutely fantastic. a 10/10 imo. I'll probably watch several more times this week. Elias was hilarious as well as Graves. The Porch Monkey and lord of the rings rant really had me laughing.
