Hitman: Blood Money

Also, I keep trying to get into the garage without the nosey old bag coming around to tell me off. When's best to get in there without being spotted?

She lets you go into the garage if you're dressed as an FBI agent. Otherwise, you could get the garbage man's clothes and go round the back and in through the window. She also bends down to do something I think so you could try sneaking in when she's doing that.

The garbage man works fine for me, no need to use windows.

Ah right, I hadn't tried it before, I'd just noticed the garbage man go round the back of the house when I was in it :P

On "You Better Watch Out", you can head up to the Studio by dressing up as the photographer (he's sitting by a little waterfall dealy) then plant a bomb up in the rafters and crush the old guy with some lights. Or just take out the dog and then push the old guy over the balcony.

Couple things I thought I'd put my 2 cents in on.

First of all, in the Mardis Gras level, people in the streets don't show up as bodies on the street on the map (and may not show up as total kills). I've taken my M4 into the level and maxed ballers and bombs and tried to kill as many as possible, with disappointing results.

Secondly, using the airgun tranq on human beings in the new life mission counts as injuring them. That was unfortunate because I thought i had SA once, but i used the tranq on the pool man and as such got something about injuring an innocent and got Professional.

A Dance with the Devil was my favorite level. Played it quite a few times and found some interesting ways to do it, including getting into the parties without being frisked, killing the first devil guy in the elevator, and such. But never found a way to kill the one assassin without being involved in a duel, and without alerting people.

Speaking of duels, it was always really funny to me when they offer to duel you and see how good you are or something and you pull out your sniper rifle, snipe them with one shot, and the duel is over. A bit anti-climactic but it makes 47 look out of their league.

Oh, and on the level with the porn guys, when I tried dropping the rafters on him, I killed some of the girls too. Better was following him and pushing him off the balcony (same thing with the son.)

However, when I rented the game, I didn't know that you could get up in Requiem, and I ended up watching the heartbeat and credits etc...then watching myself going down to be cremated and then shutting it off thinking I beat the game.

I may need to re-rent it now.

Least favorite level was probably either the wedding one, because I never learned a good easy way to do that one, though apparently there was a few that I missed, or possibly the vineyard level because it just wasn't as interesting as it could have been.

The game was fun though. I actually was a -little- disappointed though because I thought the disarming/hand-to-hand combat thing would be a little more stylish, and thought the newspapers would be better. The worst thing is that when replaying a mission you can't gain any notoriety, so if you beat it, and you want to see the notoriety thing in action, you have to start over completely (so no upgraded weapons)

I do love hitman games though, so as I told someone else, even if the game had been 12 new levels for hitman: contracts I still would have liked it.

Mardi Gras was fucking excellent. A few false starts when I realised the red guy wasn't actually the hitman you're after, getting that right then taking the jewels to the bad guy and not knowing what to do next, but it was still fantastic seeing all those people at once. I wish the area was a bit bigger though, once you've ran through it a few times the square seems really small.

I just finished Better Watch Out too. I'd heard people talking about the porn mansion, but eh, I was expecting a bit more. I managed to get a Silent Assassin ranking, but I had to shoot out the pool from the bottom, killing the three girls. Is there any other way to kill that guy and make it look like an accident? I also killed 2 of the girls in the studio when I bombed the lights in the rafters. 7 accidents and still SA, what a guy :shifty:

If you want to kill the guy in the pool quietly, you need to get the aphrodisiac from the bartender, and slip it into his drink by the counter. Once he gets it, he'll stop bitchslapping his ho, and go into the private rooms. Once he's done, he'll go stand by a balcony somewhere. Go figure.

I've never seen him get out of the pool. Ever. Hmph.

Just finished House of Cards which was very cool once I realised I should bring my sniper rifle with me. I'd fitted it with the lightweight frame and all the trimmings, so it was a rather awesome assassin moment taking it out of the case and assembling it quietly before sniping the sheik guy.

Also, I don't know why so many of you liked the wedding level. Everytime I ever tried picking locks, or poisoning the cake, ANY TIME AT ALL, someone would open a door somewhere and instantly shoot me with a shotgun. It may have been because I forgot to lower my notoriety from the previous mission, but for fucks sake :(

I've heard that all the levels in this are basically flashbacks is this tru ? I played the training mission briefly and I'm in love. I'm definetly going to pick this one up soon

Contracts, the third game which is the one before this, is comprised of pretty much only flashbacks.

Blood Money is a continuation of the Hitman storyline (well what there is of one). However the final mission, and general setup for the entire game (Contracts that is), takes place after the opera level in Blood Money.

Nice little tie in if you've played the series.

Got this today. Never played a Hitman game before, and I normally hate stealth games due to my natural ability to panic and start shooting wildly, so it's been interesting so far.

I did the training level, was fairly clumbsy, but you can't really screw it up. I started the 'Vintage Year' first level proper, but without being guided through it, I balked at the shear scale and loneliness of it all, and retired for a think about what to do. And to panic some.

Does the Hideout really do anything, bar provide target practise?

Ah ok.

I started the Vintage Year mission, killed a guard to get his uniform, then spent 15 mins wandering around, being told I wasn't allowed in to places by better guards, then got shot.

I want to get the the mission where you kill the guy in witness protection, that sounds like one hell of a level! I would of course, HAVE to give that one a try disguised as a clown.

I think the best advice I can offer a new player of hitman is to play around and experiment a little with the levels. Start on either rookie or normal (normal is preferrable...but rookie will allow you more mistakes).

Even having played Hitman before, I probably spent about 3 hours on each level (I move on if I get SA rating), give or take. I actually had a hard time with the porn mansion level (which I forget the name of off hand) and it took me longer than the others. Walking up to the guy in the pool, pulling out my silenced baller and shooting out the glass bottom didn't exactly work, though it was cool. Cooler is of course shooting it out from the bottom and watching them fall. But neither gives you SA. Took me a while to work out the strategy for silent assassin.

The other thing is, you don't necessarily have to play for silent assassin on each level. I'd say on your first playthrough, until you have experience, shoot for a professional rating (still quite tough), and you should be alright. The right disguise is key.

On normal and rookie difficulties the yellow warnings for entering restricted areas don't hurt your overrall rating, so you can see what disguises work where.

On a completely different (but still Hitman:BM) note: I re-rented the game, and last night tried a few different ways in the vineyard mission. I found it kind of amusing to kill the Don while he was playing cello by throwing a hammer at his head from behind. I wish it arced less though. It looks kind of like I lobbed the hammer in his general direction and he died. It's kind of silly, but amusing nonetheless.

Finished off his son with a hammer execution just to stick with the general theme.

Good fun.

Also...while I'm making a mile long post, I should throw in a question I had:

In curtains down, has anyone managed a silent, non-shooting kill of the guy in the theatre box without dropping the light on his head?

I was just wondering because it seems like a game with so much open ended-type play really boxes you in on that level. Basically your only choice seems to be to rig the light.

Also....has anyone actually managed to play the part of the executioner and make the kill on stage yourself? I knocked him out in his dressing room, but when I go on stage, and I'm actually in the performance, I never know when to shoot the target. When I do, he goes flying off the stage and people are immediately aware that he's dead and begin shooting at me.

Just curious

Thanks a lot for the tips guys.

I did Vintage Year, it really strook me as an easy when you know how level. Know I know what works, I really can't see replaying the mission giving me any trouble.

I loaded up the opera level and had a wander, but I had to come off anyway, so I'll try it for real tomorrow.

Ta again.

Flatline is a bitch of a mission I never want to do again.

I thought A new life would be simple but I'm having enough bastard trouble getting the FBI agents to eat the doughnuts I've put sedatives in. I took the doughnuts back to the start of the level to avoid being seen, injected them, took them back to the catering truck. I tried putting them back where I found them, but 47 thought dropping them on the floor would be more fun, and the caterer does nothing.

I eventually pick them up, put them outside the FBI truck, and open the door. FBI guys tells me to scram, but ignores the doughnuts. I throw a coin at the door and run, but nothing. Eventually, I just walk right into the damn truck carrying the fucking doughnuts, turning the alert meter yellow, put them down and run. I wait about 5 mins, go back and the agents are still fine, but not its turned my alert meter red and I get shot.

I'm going to try just injecting the doughnuts directly from the caterer's van, and just hope the ever takes the fuckers across and I dont get seen, or I'm just going to kill the fucking clown and be him instead.

Take the donuts to the end of the street, inject them, then carry them to the van. Open the door, and let the guy run out, he'll probably pull his gun but don't worry about it. He'll say they don't belong to you, so drop the donuts and walk away quickly. He'll pick them up, take them into the van and close the doors. You'll get a split screen shot of them eating the donuts and collapsing :P

Flatline was annoying, but A New Life is awesome. I've still never been the clown though.

Thats what I tried, but when I dropped the doughnuts, he just went back inside ignoring them.

Ta anyway, I'll try again. And once I've completed it properly, that clowns ass is mine.
