What music are you listening to?

About a year too late, I've started listening to Anna Calvi. I really like her music. I've been really into bands like Chic, Kool & the Gang and KC and the Sunshine band recently for some reason. Really good fun.

I'm sure I must be late on this but that one Gotye song has finally made it in this country. More people (at least people in their 20s) know it than don't, and I haven't heard one person say anything bad about it.

And as far as pimping stuff to the rest of EWB, anyone who hasn't given Mother Mother a try really should do so. Some of the catchiest hooks imaginable and occasionally some strong lyrics too.

"Multitudes" by Super Minerals, reminds me a lot of Natural Snow Buildings-type ambient/folk stuff but with a more sci-fi edge.

Been going p. much 50/50 between electronic ambient and raw black metal recently: Nordvrede's "Hammerprofeti" and Behexen's "By The Blessing Of Satan" own, dumb album art aside.

After three days of straight drinking I am sitting on the train home from Århus, listening to Keith Jarrett's Köln concert for the milluonth time. Still the best album.

I think you'd quite like him if you like keith Jarrett. He's been plugging around for years but was nominated for the Mercury Prize and thus gained a bit of exposure. That's how I cottoned on to him.

I've been listening to the Lithium station on Sirius/XM. I love all the 90's Grunge music. It's reminded me of so many songs I forgot about from when I was growing up.

Finally getting to listen to that Matana Roberts release from last year. Man, this is a powerful record, especially "Libation for Mr. Brown: Bid 'em In". I was stunned by the lyrics in that one. Now I can't wait for COIN COIN Chapter 2.

I've been re-visiting my Bush collection. I came across this single off their newest album - The Sea of Memories, and it's been stuck in my head.

I know I've heard it before, but I guess I'm in a Bush funk.
