What music are you listening to?

I thought I heard that her other group, Evelyn Evelyn with Jason Webley, was pretty good too. I haven't listened to it myself, nor the 8in8. Haven't heard about that one until just now, actually.

Evelyn Evelyn is pretty damn gimmicky, but some of the songs are still good.

Right now I'm listening to the new Spoonboy and some older Max Levine Ensemble to get psyched for tmle's show with Good Luck.

I had heard that one of the people that I work with used all his vacation time to go on tour with his band (I've worked with him for 3 years now). I just did a Google search for him to figure out what band he is in and found out that he's in the Max Levine Ensemble so I've started to check out their stuff now.

Recently I have been enjoying Syd Barrett, the Doobie Brothers, Kool and the Gang, Cher Lloyd and Cap'n Jazz.

Oh and At The Drive-In have been getting played a lot for obvious reasons.

I need to find some good music of 2012 though. Nothing has caught my imagination yet.

There is a new Guided by Voices out if that has your fancy. On a different note, there is a new Crippled Black Phoenix out as well. Also, thumbs up for Syd Barrett.

Listening to the new Russian Circles LP "Empros" (well, new and new, it came out in October of last year) and man, is it awesome. So sad I missed it when it came out. This is just post-metal instrumentals done hard; it has blown me away all of the three times I've listened to it now.

After seeing a short documentary clip about Danish punk/post-punk, I decided to listen to some Kliché. I should get into this scene more; I know it is long gone but I'd love to explore it because it has always intrigued me, despite that I've never giving it much attention in the past. Bands like Lost Kids, Sods and Before all had my ear when I heard some of their songs.

I've been listening to a lot of Wanda Jackson. Her new stuff (studio and live albums) on Third Man Records are amazing.

Devin Townsend's Punky Brüster release. I mean, I can't stand pop-punk and this record was released solely to take the piss out of that genre. And I love it. Truly and honestly, I love this middle class white Canadian man.
