I'm not saying he's going to seriously shake up the division, but he's a guy with slick jiu jitsu that will have wrestlers thinking and that pawing boxing style that keeps guys on the back foot. He's going to be a bigger challenger to those guys than most that the UFC have at 170lbs. Something much needed when you consider that Dan Hardy and Paul Daley are the only guys who've really broken through recently.

Alves would kill him though.

Koscheck just won't go on the back foot its not in his nature, I would imagine he would just continue to push and his stand up is so much better than it used to be and to be honest Koscheck's world class wrestling is able to ride out the majority of jiu jitsu practioners on the ground. To draw a recent analogy Diaz will provide as much as a challenge to Koscheck and Fitch at 170 as Guida did to Ken Flo and Sanchez at 155, it might make some exciting fights but in the end we wont be talking about Diaz, we will be talking about the guys who beat him.

You talk about needing more guys to break through, but do you really think that guy is Nate Diaz, the guy is obviously talented and on his day is unbelievable on the ground, but when push comes to shove he's just another gatekeeper and not the guy who will be challenging a Penn or St. Pierre.

This kind of highlights what I mean. The UFC welterweight division's top 3/4 is so suffocated right now, there's not just the unstoppable champion, but 2/3 fighters underneath him who can't be budged. No, Diaz very likely isn't going to be in title contention in the foreseeable future, but like you said; he has fantastic ground skills and boxing talent to boot. If he can take out a Fitch or Koscheck and that's all he contributes, he'll help the division massively by creating spots for fresh match-ups. And I believe that his style is one of the rare ones who can beat these guys.

The event, which also featured hometown star Urijah Faber in the co-headliner, drew an audience of 10,027 for an estimated $550,000 live gate. Kimbo Slice's next fight looks to also be on the 113 Montreal card against Matt Mitrione.

With Rampage/Evans and Machida/Rua, this is an easy 1 million buys for them. And definitely looking forward to Koscheck and Daley and I got Kos winning that.

Also Fighters Only is reporting a fight between Forrest Griffin and Little Nog is in the works for 2010 but no date set.

I don't know that it's an easy million. It would be better to do it after The A-Team, if you ask me...

I think Kos will GnP Daley out.
