When the game is first loading (After you choose the save slot and you've accepted the dialog box that popped up) LEAVE THE GAME ALONE. Don't press anything. The game will let you know when it's ready (roughly 5~10 minutes for each new game to generate).

You don't need a new scenario, you need to not click/press buttons while EWR is generating your game.

That said, I do have a 2001 scenario which luckily has it's readme file still attached. I've never played it, but have had this zip file stored away for years.

Overview

The year is 2001. All rosters, tag teams, stables, champions, shows, etc., are accurate as of January 1, 2001. WCW has no money left, in fact, by 2001, they were in debt, so I left them with $0 money.

If you want the game to begin on January 2001, just set your PC clock to December 2000. I prefer this myself instead of beginning on "September 1, 2002" when it's a 2001 scenario.
