Stoke 2-0 Wolves at HT. Jones and Shawcross. I fancied Wolves to get something out of this game thinking Stoke might have an eye on the final, but maybe not.

Edit: 3-0 FT

I not sure if they're allowed but they're kinda unnecessary. Think about it if they were allowed, they'd be are very rare in any case considering the amount of cover teams have for every other position. Goalkeeper is the only true specialised position because any defender or midfielder could play in any position across the line. Even at a push midfielders could be used as cover for defenders or strikers and so forth. Look at Man Utd a while back, playing Carrick and Fletcher at centre half due to injuries

Well if it's not just goalkeepers I'd quite like Messi and Ronaldo as emergency strikers for Sunderland since we don't have a single fit one for the rest of the season it appears.

Actually I'd rather we threw in Ryan Noble and gave him a chance.

At least Darren Bent "feels sorry" for us though, so that makes it all okay.

To be fair, whilst it's not ideal, you can throw kids on as strikers if you don't have any makeshift strikers (i.e. attacking midfielders) in your squad. It's not as pivotal to have a striker who's experienced/up to standard (obviously its bloody useful :shifty: )as it is a keeper.

I'm glad whoever was interviewing Bent put him in his place though, regarding Ashley Young. Bent said he wanted him to stay, but the guy was all;

"Yeah, but you couldn't blame him if he wanted to move to a bigger club, could you? I mean, you moved..."

I wanna know what the hell we're putting our team through at training. Some sort of Total Wipeout scenario?

Not only do we have the most injuries in the Premiership at the momeny, but they're all arguably first team players.

Gyan and Welbeck are our top strikers. Can't imagine Welbeck will ever pull on a Sunderland jersey again so would like to thank him for his performances. Campbell was injured in pre-season and now looks likely to miss most of next season too.

Bardsley has been player of the season, and if not him then it's been Bramble. Both of who are injured. Craig Gordon is obviously our number one goalkeeper and his save against Zat Knight earlier in the season shows his true class.

Richardson has been much better as of late, ironically he picked it up just after I suggested we get rid of him, such is my power. That or since he found God and started putting the crucifix on his shinpad. And Mensah, we can't really argue with that as he spends most of the time dicking on opposing strikers and then sitting out a few weeks with injury, either way he'd probably start at centre back with Bramble since Turner hasn't improved whatsoever lately.

How can a guy who looks like this go down injured all the time?

He looks like he could bench press a car.

Speaking at Friday’s press conference, Ferguson said: “Berbatov’s trained all week. He had a slight groin strain and missed the last two games but he’s available.

“Darren Fletcher played 45 minutes [against Arsenal reserves on Thursday evening] and he’s come through it fine. I’ll possibly include him in Wednesday’s game [against Schalke], maybe get 45 minutes out of him.

“He’s put the weight back on, he’s working hard in the gymnasium so it’s a great addition this time of year having missed him for a couple of months.”

Was hoping Fletch would be available for Arsenal, but the Schalke game should be a good game for him to return. I'd expect the team against Arsenal to be very similar to Tuesday night, I've heard that Giggs won't be playing though and Scholes is still suspended for his kung-fu kick. Park will be the main man on Sunday though, he loves playing against Arsenal!
