Wow..I know you guys mainly talk about multiplayer on here, but you see the changelog for the new weekly snapshot?

800px-12w21a_Sandstone_Structure.png

Pyramids mostly consist of Wool, Sandstone, Chiseled Sandstone, Smooth Sandstone and Sandstone Stairs. In the middle of the Pyramid is a blue wool, underneath there is a 'secret' chamber with 4 chests which contain very valuable loot, and a stone pressure plate connected to a 3x3 grid of TNT. Some treasures found in Pyramids include Emeralds, Diamonds, Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots, Rotten Flesh and Bones.

Ender_Chest.png

Ender Chests were added in Snapshot 12w21a[1]. An Ender Chest works similar to a regular Chest, it has the same room as a normal one, but when items are stored inside it and another Ender Chest is placed somewhere else, it will have the items teleported into it from the 1st chest, even in the Nether and End dimensions. This can be very useful if you're traveling and you have no room in your inventory for other items.

Ender chests are not per-player in SMP; all chests still share the same contents.[2]

The chests can be created by surrounding an Eye of Ender with Obsidian.[3], and emits a particle effect similar to that used by an Enderman and by a Nether Portal, as well as slight light level increase.

Ender Chests do not have a Double Chest variant and can be placed adjacent to one another.

Destroying an Ender Chest does not drop its contents. You can destroy all Ender Chests, place another and it will still have the same inventory.

An Ender Chest has the same blast resistance as obsidian, making it immune to explosion

File:Villager_trading_preview.png

The image shows a GUI with buying and selling areas. The bottom area allows the player to sell various items for currency, whereas the top area uses this currency to purchase items. A possible way to buy them would be to put these currencies in the left slot, where the chicken is, and you can scroll through items for the right slot to take the item you choose once you click on it. The player may use the arrow buttons to scroll through a Villager's inventory and select the desired item. Jeb also mentioned that this may be an end to non-renewable resources, supposedly as most can be bought for some price from NPCs. In the image, a red currency item can be seen.

I like the idea of trading, but man it seems pointless without some kind of special items you can only get from the testificates. Pyramids are cool, but it doesn't really fix the problem I think a lot of people who've been playing a while now will have in that... it doesn't really add anything outside of the "oh, that's cool" factor. There's no real reward for finding it that you couldn't find by going mining for a bit. I'd like some special items or something that you can only get by finding these chests.

So, as is my way, I ducked behind my house to go find some logs and ended up getting massively lost. I went down into some caves and found something wonderful. I name it Salty Caverns.

cavern2.png

It lights up real purty at night.

cavern3.png

Go up the waterfall in the middle and there's a little ledge of sorts that I dug up from to the surface to form an entrance.

Not sure if everyone was reading the blog on the server we're all on but...

New World Update

The world is going amazingly well. Even some old members that haven't been on made it back to join us! We also have a bunch of new members thanks to Ruki! Welcome to the server!!

I have been thinking that when we are ready to go back to the old world we will have it up for a bit and then see what one people prefer. We could always start a new one if there's a different world mod that would be good. Giant Caves is a hit so that will always be with us. All worlds will be backed up so if the players actively playing feel like doing a different world we can change it.

Any suggestions, comments or issues feel free to let me know!

Giant Caves

Due to the issues on the old server where people would light up a cave then never come back, if you do find one and light it up and you want to keep it PLEASE build a structure of some kind with your name on it like all the other structures have. It will stop a lot of confusion in the future and give others a chance at getting their own cave if you choose to move on. As with any other structure if you move on and abandon it please leave a sign stating it's abandoned so someone else can use it or the spot.

So maybe don't get too attached if we're reverting to the old world?

Recently XBLAFans had a Livestream with Roger Carpenter, one of the devolpers on the Microsoft end of Minecraft XBLA (i call it MCX) and he has released new information on several questions surrounding the game. Below is most of the information covered in the 2 hour Livestream, and i hope this info helps clear up some of the misleading threads in this forum.

First off There will be a small update in about 2 weeks which will be mostly bug fixes. But from the information in the Livesteam Carpenter also talked about clay becoming more common and maybe a warning message about placing Lava near the spawn. There will be another update sometime in July which is the 1.7.3 Update which will include Pistons.

Another major announcement is that UPDATES WILL BE FREE.
