I’ve started reading A Feast For Crows and wow, the show really did fuck up Dorne. In twenty pages I got way more into all of those characters than I did in a full season of TV.

Yeah Dorne got properly shafted in the show. Way way way more interesting in the book but their main plot has been cut completely.

I think they shouldn't have bothered with Dorne at all, given how half-baked it ended up being. I read somewhere that that was originally the plan, but Weiss and Benioff were so impressed by Indira Varma's portrayal of Ellaria Sand that they crammed their own Dorne storyline in.

I have actually liked watching Ellaria because Varma has a good stage presence about her, but the way they simplified Doran's character was a big shame. In the books, he's a patient, calculating man presenting himself as a peace-loving diplomat, while the show turned him into an indecisive non-entity.

The last season takes a slower pace and shows the entirety of Dany and Jon's wedding before they break up in the finale and Dany runs off with the Night King because he brought her a blue dragon.
