Your team's players who have played more games for that club than any other

Recommended Posts

I couldn't think of a better title. <_<

I always think it's quite cool to have players who have played more games for the team you support than any other.

Look at the starting or main substitute players for the team you support. Which of those have played more games for your team than any other?

For example, Ryan Giggs at Manchester United is an obvious choice.

Lazily going by wikipedia the following players have played more games for Tottenham than anyone else.

Gareth Bale

Younès Kaboul

Tom Huddlestone

Aaron Lennon

Luka Modric

Jermain Defoe

Michael Dawson

Ledley King

Benoît Assou-Ekotto

Vedran Corluka

Jermaine Jenas

Shola. Always Shola. Mebbe Stevie Taylor off the top of my head.

Definitely Taylor, never played for anyone else. Prob Danny Simpson by now, Tim Krul as well. Guthrie, Jonas and Collicini may well fit into this now too.

Just grasped the point of the thread, though I did guess correctly anyway! I was just looking for leading appearances, which is why that list of 10+ Spurs players confused me

In which case yours are right, plus Steve Harper, Danny Guthrie and some of the young lads like Vuckic, Fergie etc.

Not including youth players, Marvin Enmes (80) and Justin Hoyte (82) have played more games for Middlesbrough than anyone else.

Lee Cattermole has almost played as many games for Sunderland as he did for Middlesbrough. That makes me sad.

2. Branislav Ivanovic 139 (Lokomotiv Moscow 71)

3. Ashley Cole 228 (Arsenal 228) :o I'm counting this because it'll be true next week! (Or maybe already if wiki's not up-to-date)

5. Michael Essien 226 (Lyon 89)

8. Frank Lampard 538 (West Ham 186)

11. Didier Drogba 323 (Le Mans 72)

Hines Ward has been on the Steelers since 1998, which is pretty impressive considering the roster overturn and his physical style of play as a WR. I heard he might get cut on ESPN, but I'd hope he would retire before plaing for another team after this much time with the Steelers. After him I have no idea whose got the most tenure active on the team. They probably aren't that close though.

Also yeah, Hansen has been there forever. He's been pretty great the whole time though. Kicker's just never leave :shifty:

Somewhat surprisingly to me, if Neil Sullivan plays another 14 games for us he would have played more games for us in 5 years than he ever did for Wimbledon in 12. That said I can't ever see him playing one more game for us, nevermind more than dozen.

James O'Connor

Shelton Martis

Martin Woods

Brian Stock

John Oster

Simon Gillett

Sam Hird

James Coppinger

I also wish to include Mark Wilson who has just left us after 5 years to join Oxford. To be honest that's more than I thought, though several of them are only just in front for us on appearances than a previous club. Coppinger, our longest serving player, has played by far the most with nearly 300 appearances since 2004 for us.
