Tbf, I wouldn't have done it if the line itself didn't specifically refer to making a joke. And I don't think making jokes about something like this are a sign of insensitivity or disrespect; it's not like he's the punchline, or that anything in them is designed to belittle him. Just a bit of gallows humour.

Oh, and I've got a Muamba joke for balance;
