The 2012 Summer Transfer Window thread

I've heard the fee for Fletcher might even be £14m... which is just absurd. As I said, £9m seems perfectly fine for a relatively young, proven Prem goalscorer who will get you different types of goals but probably no more than 12 or 13, but that is just mad money. O'Neill's limits to only signing British talent are already shining through at Sunderland.

But Wolves have done some tremendous business this summer. They won't go up for shit but they'll be in good financial shape to mount a challenge next season if they spend wisely.

The Sahin Saga continues apparently and currently he looks more set for Liverpool than Arsenal.

It appears Madrid don't want to sell him, just loan him out. Which suits Liverpool but not Arsenal, who want to buy him.

How can QPR be signing the Inter Milan first choice goalkeeper. That's insane.

And it sucks for Rob Green...I hope Hughes hasn't decided to do this based on one game at the weekend where he had a bit of a shocker.

He isn't the number one, Handanovic will be now he's signed from Udinese.

Though yeah, it'll be pretty mental if Cesar goes to QPR and if it does happen, they must be offering him a massive amount of money because he's still a great keeper who could quite easily sign for one of the much bigger clubs. If it happens then Green wont get a single look in to be quite frank.

Regarding Fletcher. He handed in a transfer request, which means he foregoes a payment the signing club would make to him, so they can put more money into the actual transfer fee.

Or that was the line used when Chelsea signed Meireles or whatever, hand in a transfer request you give up your right to some 'loyalty' payment you would otherwise be entitled too so the buying club can put some more money into the actual transfer fee.

Obviously Sunderland would have been better of signing 0.4 of an Andy Carroll or whatever instead.. or something.

Obviously a full tilt at the title this year from Chelsea, you'd assume, plus they'll want to defend their European crown. I can think of worse players to bring on for the last 20 minutes of a match, or perhaps to play a full game during a busy period of matches should it be needed. Good player and seems like he'd fit in quite well on the flanks in the 3 behind the striker so not a bad signing.
