Michael Clarke Duncan has died

I had no clue he was ill so this is shocking and truly awful news. He was wonderful in everything he was in, no matter whether it was something like The Green Mile or just an episode of Chuck. 54 is way too young to die.

"On the day of my judgment, when I stand before God, and He asks me why did I kill one of his true miracles, what am I gonna say? That it was my job? My job?"

"You tell God the Father it was a kindness you done. I know you hurtin' and worryin', I can feel it on you, but you oughta quit on it now. Because I want it over and done. I do. I'm tired, boss. Tired of bein' on the road, lonely as a sparrow in the rain. Tired of not ever having me a buddy to be with, or tell me where we's coming from or going to, or why. Mostly I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world everyday. There's too much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head all the time. Can you understand?"

I had no idea he was sick either. He seemed really lovely in interviews and stuff and seemed pretty much perfect for the role he played in The Green Mile. Having read the book I thought they would never find anyone capable of filling such a large role, he did it perfectly.

I had no idea he was even ill and this upsets me a great deal :(

I first saw the Green Mile when I was 9, I can remember it vividly because my mum wouldn't let me watch the bit where he's holding the two dead girls in his arms. He was an absolute giant to me at that time, he just seemed so much larger than life and it's something that's stuck with me since. Gutted he's gone.

I completely forgot he was in Chuck, he was glorious in that. Think I'll watch that tomorrow. Awful for him to die at 54, but I remember hearing that he absolutely loved his meat before he turned veggie a few years back. Truly sad though, and with Green Mile being one of my favourite films it'll no doubt be even harder to watch that ending. Rest in Peace Michael Clarke Duncan, you were wonderful.

Saddened by this, I heard he had a heart attack in July and I guess never fully recovered from it, that happens sometimes unfortunately. Its too bad as he was a good actor and seemed like a genuinely nice person by all accounts. Been a sad year with so many great people passing :(
