I understand all that, but at the same time I'm in this thread looking at all the people playing the game without any problems and it's making me frustrated.

I can get into a solo game but I can't do anything in it. It just prompts me to start the race but there's no option to. I can drive around and stuff but there's no stores or missions marked.

So did character creator, my request to join a game times out and I ended up as Michael, with my next story mission complete without me doing it.
