Oh my god I forgot about Seaman as Man City too. This is a disaster.

Take our Terry Butcher and Seaman, put in Chris Woods and Tony Adams and maybe that is okay.

if anything else goes wrong I’ll take one of those guys who go and spend their whole career in Iceland for some reason. He’ll be shit, but minimal risk of overlap . 😕

Vinnie Jones' lone season at Chelsea (and technically being Welsh ) stopped me from using my planned 4-3-3 formation, which has led to a few players being slightly out of position. Grant Holt (ST), Jamie Carragher (LB), and Tony Hibbert (RB) were all part of that team before I failed to find a suitable central midfielder, although Holt did also potentially clash with Vardy if phoenix clubs count as the same team as their predecessors. I guess playing Ledley King as a defensive midfielder would allow the original plan to work if I could find a replacement for Holt or Southgate (who both played for Villa).

Fixed now hopefully this one works. I'm right in thinking Sancho does not count as playing for Manchester City as he did not play at senior level.

The lack of English players who have played for clubs outside of England is making this so hard. Harder still that the ones who do leave England by and large only do it after playing at one of the top English clubs. Not a lot of guys going from West Brom to Parma.

English players going abroad was relatively common in the early 90s (which I put a bit of thought into because I was alive for most of that)., but focusing on them doesn’t make it any easier. Unfortunately the problem with the likes of David Platt, Paul Ince, Chris Waddle, Paul Gascoigne and so on was that they also played for a load of top English clubs. Loads of top English players played in Scotland at that time too, though unfortunately mostly for Rangers: Chris Woods, Terry Butcher, Mark Hateley, Gary Stevens, Trevor Steven.

I'm attempting to use only players who I remember watching at least once which basically cuts out English players who retired before the '98 World Cup. I could dig further back but a lot of the names I'd be selecting on reputation instead of remembering how good they were/weren't.
