Konta made it difficult for herself at the end. She almost knocked herself out.

Excellent match and Jo played really, really well. Goes in as the favourite tomorrow against Strycova, but then she was favourite for the French Open too earlier this year and didn't manage it.

The women's draw looks very interesting. You'd probably say that Serena and Halep are the favourites to meet in the final, but it still looks very open. Konta at her best could win against those two below their best, but there are also many others who could quite realistically beat her too.

Serena has been fined $10,000 for damaging a court during a practice session two weeks ago, meanwhile Fabio Fognini has been fined $3,000 for saying that he hoped a bomb would blow up Wimbledon.

I see UEFA are in charge of the fines committee at Wimbledon.

Konta was fantastic for the first few games. What's concerning is that this isn't the first time she's failed to maintain a high level of quality throughout a whole match.

She lost the first set by such a small margin as well, but then just crumbled. A real shame because she came from a set down to beat better players in the two previous rounds. Nevermind.

This is the first day I've been able to sit down and watch the tennis. God damn, the power couple of Murray and Williams is fantastic stuff.

Strycova did pretty much the exact same yesterday to Mertens when I was there. Mertens was a set up and on serve at 5-2 in the second set, slipped up a little and Strycova just destroyed her from that point. Same thing happened to Konta.
