XBOX One or PS4?

Plus we've gotten some awesome free games for having Plus, like Rocket League and this new Towers game that I can't ever remember the name of. Tricky Towers. Twinky Towers. Tipsy Topsy Towers. Something. It's fun though.

Are there any real time strategy games around these days?

Remember, anything you buy digitally can stay in your library anyway, so you don't need to have EVERYTHING downloaded at once. As long as you aren't somebody that plays 10+ games at a time, 500GB should be plenty.

Tricky Towers is honestly the best PS+ game I've seen outside of Rocket League. I wasn't expecting much, but I've wasted entire days playing the fucking thing.

It's essential if you want to play online components of 99% of games anyway. The "free" games and reduced prices are not as good as they used to be, but they're decent, and the discounts can be good if you're smart about your digital purchases.

Not really on PS4. XCOM 2 is a great turn-based strategy game, though, and that's coming out on consoles soon.

Re: hard drive space, don't forget you'll need to factor in updates /patches. They're getting to ridiculous sizes now.

The PS4 is ridiculously easy to upgrade the hard drive. Not sure on the XBO.

Yeah, I'm debating whether to bother getting a new hard drive now or just trading it in towards the 4.5 or whatever it's called and just get one of those with a larger hard drive.

You can't, though in comparison, you can use external hard drives on the XB1 for storage, while on the PS4 you can just use them to backup data

 

Also @VerbalRick, not sure how much you paid but maybe you should've waited a bit.  They just announced the PS4 Slim for $300.  Not sure about the replaceable hard drive, but since that was actually a selling point of the PS4, I doubt that it would change

External hard drives on the XB1 are pretty awesome as well - depending on the speed of the HD you're using you can even minorly effect the performance of certain high stress games.

I paid 327 i think, so just going to eat it. Not worth shipping back over 27 bucks for me.

That's cool though, I like that rather than wearing some silly McDonalds headset. Although I never play online and I've never used a headset...headphones are nice to have.
