While I enjoyed that a lot, I hope we get some more details about Virtual Console sooner rather than later. We know that the games are coming, but there are still questions about the Switch's other functions.

aaaaand they just announced a new Metroid game for 3DS. Looks like classic sidescrolling gameplay.

This (I think?) is a remake of the Gameboy game of the same name, but Nintendo have just killed it really with their announcements.

Wait, is this gonna be a legit console Pokemon or a port of Sun and Moon? If its the former then holy shit! 

What took Nintendo so bloody long to make it though?!

They didn't say anything about it being a port, so I'd assume it isn't. I think a better question to ask is if it's a Pokemon game using the mechanics/basic plot of the main Pokemon series, or if it's something like those games where you're playing as like an RPG party of Pokemon going through dungeons. But then, in the Nintendo spotlight they say it's a "core" title.

They called it a core game so I'm pretty sure it's going to be a proper Pokemon game and it doesn't make sense for this to be a different announcement if it's just Sun and Moon related - because why else wouldn't they just do Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon on it then?

Disappointing that, considering the PC/PS4 cross play is already a thing. I have it on Xbox as well anyway.

Bleh. I bought a 2ds for the sole sake of Pokemon sun but I won't be getting a switch at all, so I selfishly hope it's not a core proper game. It would be fantastic and something that I've looked forward to for years but these days I can't justify dropping that much cash on a whole console I wouldn't otherwise be interested in so meh

Yeah, this year's big Christmas purchase for me and the better half will either be a Switch or a Playstation VR. Leaning towards a Switch after today.
