Another twist in the tale for Jordan Amavi's proposed move to Sevilla, after the La Liga club claimed yesterday that he had failed a medical, much to the bemusement of sources at Amavi's current club, Aston Villa.

But developments this morning from Sky Sports News HQ say that Sevilla have been back in touch with Villa and now want to take Amavi on loan. The Sky Bet Championship are saying no to that though and claim it proves that there is nothing wrong with his fitness.

Villa are also reportedly angry at the way Amavi has been treated. When they came back for pre-season fitness tests, Amavi finished in the top four in the Villa squad despite Sevilla are claiming he failed a medical.

Man City have agreed a deal with Brazilian club Vasco da Gama to sign teenage midfielder Douglas Luiz for £10.7m, The Telegraph reports. City have been tracking Luiz since last year and have now moved to secure the 19-year-old's services. He is expected to initially be loaned out, possibly to Spanish club Girona, rather than immediately join the first team squad.

It won't happen.

Chelsea are in talks to sign Real Madrid right-back Danilo, Sky in Italy reports, with Juventus also said to be interested. He would cost about €30m – around £28m - and is currently in LA with Real on their pre-season tour. Real signed him from Porto two years ago for €31.5m and is currently the second choice right-back behind Dani Carvajal.

The Holland defender Jaïro Riedewald is set to be reunited with his former manager at Ajax, Frank de Boer, after reaching an agreement in principle to move to Crystal Palace. The versatile defender, who can also operate as a holding midfielder, is expected to cost an initial fee in the region of £7.5m with further add-ons related to appearances and achievements.  Reports in the Netherlands suggest the Ajax director of football, Marc Overmars, has sanctioned the sale unless further interest emerges from rival suitors. West Bromwich Albion, Leicester City, Everton and Stoke City had all considered moves for the 20-year-old, who has three caps. Riedewald, who was given his first-team debut by De Boer in 2013, will add to Palace’s defensive options, with the club having accepted they will not be able to bring Mamadou Sakho back to Selhurst Park, because of Liverpool’s £30m asking price. Scott Dann, who began last season as Palace’s captain, will remain at the club and Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek is due to sign on a one-year loan deal on Wednesday. There is interest, too, in Barcelona’s reserve goalkeeper, Jasper Cillessen, who could join initially on loan for the season with a view to a permanent transfer. Palace sold Steve Mandanda back to Marseille on Tuesday after only one year in south London, with the France No2 goalkeeper signing a three-year contract at the Stade Vélodrome.

2 hours ago, Rooney! said:

Apparently Eric Dier might go to Man Utd for like £50mil!? He's been woeful every time I've seen him play recently.

He's quality and vital to our team for tactical flexibility, our ability to go to three at the back, or vice versa into 4-2-3-1 changed games so often last year. He's only 23, a natural leader and did well to constantly shift between defence and midfield and Poch rates him. I hope he stays for sure. Plus he's Dele's best mate.
