  1. I've struggled to think of any particular games without having a list of about 300 so I'll simplify it. I'd like to be able to experience each "generation"/system for the first time as I grew up around games. It doesn't work with a more modern outlook but to relive the years and going through it. The idea of loading up a Spectrum tape and seeing (reasonable) renditions of Postman Pat or Thomas the Tank Engine for the first time. To loading up a C64 and hearing the improvement in music and general graphics. Picking up a Game Boy and being able to play games while out and about. Then I'd have been able to load up an Amiga and suddenly seen the sheer scale of strategy games like Civ or Premier/Championship manager, I've got my first real console of the speed and colours of a mega drive game through Sonic the Hedgehog. Then my mind could really be blown by picking up a Playstation and... Metal Gear Solid, the scale of some of those Amiga and pc games (as I'm not going to go through suddenly picking up "well I got another pc here and it booted up a bit quicker at first and could handle more recent games") but being even bigger across two discs something new as far as the "simple" world of consoles and just opening up so much more. The progressive jump to the PS2 which while not being as stand out moment the jump over the time still has enough of a wow as GTA matures and the "Realistic graphics" actually start to look a lot closer than I'd previously believed. Finally a PS3. Being able to set up Rock Band, download a continuously expanded set list and play in a "band" in real time with a couple of friends from all over the world. I'd been able to play online before this era of course but it was so quick and easy and a sense of growth on a console and it's availability feels on another level. I could have detoured and picked up other things like some of the consoles/handhelds I had (PSP and watching films on my handheld gaming console!) or spent more time around PC but for brevity and a general overview I've tried to keep it as simple to avoid too many tangents, for me the jump to PS3/4/5 doesn't *feel* as huge to me looking back. To be able to have those experiences across systems and seeing the growth of things without the "cloud" of nostalgia and being able to experience them without any vision of what was to follow is something that is just something totally impossible now. I can't wait to rage at the weird control system of Alien Resurrection... before near every game borrowed the basic control scheme!
  2. Me before kickoff looking at the Spurs lineup - this could be a long night for Spurs Me five minutes in - it's going to be a very long night for Spurs.
  3. I waited for the series to be up before tuning in. It's really great stuff. I know they're talking about quite a bit of future material but even if they were to just stick with campaign one, get that done, and then move on to campaign two it would have so much great material. Really high quality, they've done an amazing job of trimming down so many hours of content in to a digestible and enjoyable series.
  4. I've played a few hours today, not far in to it but it's reminding me of the DS games, not a bad thing at all. It does feel like a bit of a step back from 3H (hazards of making one of the best games of the last decade) but overall I'm finding the tactical combat challenging and the story is fine if nothing spectacular.
  5. Just realised I'd missed the release of the new Fire Emblem game... It has been made up for now. Absolutely loved Three Houses so looking forward to this.
  6. Royal gets one goal and suddenly Spurs decide to drop the goal machine like that. Shameful.
  7. Isn't that misconception from people who know fuck all about football anyway? For all the wackiness and cult of celebrity around the club, both have pointed out the long heritage of the club on multiple occasions, including Reynolds at the weekend making a point when talking of the future in highlighting that it's the oldest international football stadium in the world for example and wanting a team to justify that. I think there is a likely plateau point around League One they'll stagnate for a few years, a league that has a good amount of teams who until recently were non-league nonentities and have worked up alongside some big name clubs on a slide. I can see that being somewhere they hang around for a while or maybe yoyo a bit while they build up to compete with the next step of the Championship. I do think that, although obviously spending money, it's not something that if they've got Wrexham as a stable league club and decide "I'm tired of this" that will necessarily ruin their long term stability.
  8. In this day and age of remakes, reboots and just generally recycling things across all media I'm shocked they've not tried to bring back Dream Team.
  9. So I may be a little out of the loop a bit on this but just seen a Not For Broadcast DLC is coming soon... So in short, it looks like we're going to basically be editing Most Haunted Live... Which I am more than happy about the prospect of doing.
  10. To be purchased by Sports Interactive in a desperate attempt to save the Collyers beloved club. Get Lollujo in to the end of the season in the hope they'll "do a football" and stay up.
  11. Amazing day at Broadhall Way. Huge result and the place was bouncing. Difficult game in hand this week against Swindon before the Stoke cup game but we're in a great place to push on for promotion now.
  12. well, they did it. The crazy sons of bitches did it. Even I wasn't expecting such a good effort at throwing things away so soon.
  13. This is going to be interesting, Spurs leading at half time, if there's one thing we've learned this season is they can only be vaguely competent for one half so in a turn up for the books today we're going to see a second half of them desperately trying to throw away a game.
  14. It's all a bit Levy really isn't it. Team sets asking price, are up front about their requests and you stand around haggling over (for these teams) small change. I know teams can take the piss but you want the bloke, give them what they want. If the player is that key to your plans in the future you'll more than make up the difference of any haggling.
  15. Just in from a rehearsal, let's tune in to the NLD... Okay well this is over.
  16. This is the story of the property now sadly. She sold millions of copies of the books to people who were only buying them to "teach the wokes" over the last couple of years. The game looks like it'll be decent even if there's zero interest overall from me (just never got into the books or films so not a property that appeals) but the internet is going to be horrible once this comes out for a while.
  17. Glorious, incredible scenes at VIlla is what I'm sure Lineker meant to say. Stevenage always score late on, everyone knows that. Never in doubt.
  18. Meanwhile Coventry/Wrexham was a fantastic match.
  19. It's been a while but... it's Super Son Time!
  20. West Ham/Everton could well determine who gets the axe, although I'm surprised that both Moyes and Lampard have lasted as long as they have with how awful they've been so far this year.
  21. I think Forbidden Sky is the one with the electrical element. Vaguely recall them doing one that had some sort of circuit you had to complete before trying to get away from the location. It's a great little series of games and used to be a regular at our wargaming club nights on "can't be arsed to lug a bunch of models in tonight" situations.
  22. It's not big, it's not clever but... I've got hooked on World of Warships. I'm not good at it but it's such a quick cycle around games and can be quite fun which has meant I keep having "one more turnitis" and saying "sod it, I'll give my silly Swedish destroyer another go..."
  23. I'd say you can pick up and get into Total War games relatively easily, though I have played every one since the original Shogun (except Troy, but the Red Cross have just given me a steam key so that'll soon change) so I've grown up with them. The base tutorials are pretty good though and you'll pick things up soon enough I should think. As above, they're not *too* complex, my favourites are the Warhammer ones because I've waited for these games since White Dwarf showed work in progress of Warhammer Online (which was nothing like what the MMO would become) and they're great fun. Some factions are a bit fiddlier to work with but if there's a period of history you're interested in I'd say you'll get a lot out of them, fantastic series of games.
