Anybody else watcing Lovecraft Country? I feel like some of the CGI hasn't totally hit the mark but I quite like the idea of doing a different theme of the horror genre each week, while also showing that people are often even more horrific than any ghost, monster or whatever.

Our DM got me a gift for our birthday. It's a bow (+1) of memory. Anytime I hit my target, I roll a d20 to see if I can find a vulnerability, resistance or immunities. Ever since our first game, my character has a weird fondness for teeth and I usually extract them from any animal or creature we kill. So naturally, the bow is decorated with dragon teeth.

Can't believe they've made the series a Best of 17.

Salary caps just mean players get paid less, which is the last thing we should be asking for when owners already have so much power. The average salary ranking of the World Series champs since 1995 is 7.2, which seems fairly reasonable to me, if even a little bit low. They've added a bunch of stuff the last few years (Competitive Balance picks) that I think make up for the disparity in payroll.

I loved Dark. It's brilliantly well-written, well-cast and well-acted. It's a show you have to be watching along the whole time (ie. not reading Twitter at the same time) but it's so worth it.

There are waivers. But the system is basically: Day 1: Notice I need a player. Put in a claim. Day 2: Claim is successful. Day 3: Player is eligible to be on your roster. Yahoo is also telling me I can't make a waiver claim because I have a player listed on the IL who is not injured, even though Keone Kela is not on my IL.

Can we consider speeding up picking up someone? I get that you sort of need a day with the bidding system, but I feel like not being able to add them to your roster until the day after that is a bit brutal. If you're trying to pick someone up to fill an injury and you didn't have a back-up at that position (especially with how strict Yahoo is with position eligibility), it's a bit rough.

Someone should help me pitch a Taskmaster episode to a podcast I listen to. The premise would be that they would compete in their tasks over the week and discuss the results on the podcast like the live show.

I have to believe Johnny Vegas will be pretty bad at most challenges but I am eagerly awaiting the one where he blows everyone away.
