  1. To me, since no game is truly without any flaws whatsoever, a "perfect" game is one that achieves it's goal in the fullest manner. Thus, games like Mario 64, LOZ: Ocarina of Time, Metroid Prime, and yes, even GTA: SA can qualify as "perfect games", as they all set out to meet certain goals, and did so in a very large manner.
  2. I always read like, all of th em when I was growing up. But personally, I prefered EGM over the rest. And still do, actually, as it's the only one I still have a subscription to. I used to subscribe to IGN Insider, but then something called "no money" happened, and I ended up not renewing it. I think that mags can still be a good source of news, as I've noticed sometimes they can get thigns out of publishers and the like that internet sources can't. That may all change as well, but for now, I think magazines are still a viable alternative for the net.
  3. Really kinda makes you wonder how they decide who to include in the roster for these games. Seems like the past several wrestling games for aALL systems have been lacking a little in the roster department. Of course, there's always create-a-wrestler, but it still doesn't quite make up for not having champions and major characters there in the first place.
  4. As a die hard Nintendo fanboy, I will admit to never having owned any Sega system, EVER. However, as a die hard Nintendo fanboy, I will admit to right now be watching my wife play the Sonic Mega Collection on my Gamecube, only because she stole the controller form me when I got up for a minute. Sega really had some great games come out around the time period of the Mega Drive.
  5. Personally, I love the whole line of thinking that goes "It's not my kind of show, so it's crap, and since I think it's crap, obviously it's going to fail." Just find that interesting. Not addressing that towards anyone here specifically, just an observation that I've noticed in many places. Though yeah, I do see their point, in that the show IS bringing in a lot of money, so why not ask for more? THAT said, complaining about "only" getting $47,000 a show is pretty...petty and greedy and whiny and bitchy.
  6. I just called my mom and told her the news. She was in shock, since she loved Carson, as did I. He truly had a certain prescence about him that made you look at him and KNOW that he was "the man" when it came to his business. Sad news indeed.
  7. Been confirmed for PS2 also. And yes, I'll be renting this one when it comes out to see if I want to buy it. Looks like it could be a great game.
  8. Sad. Truly a great all around performer. I'll have to go put on my copy of "The Fantasticks" as a rememberance today.
  9. What's funny about Surviving Christmas is that as bad as it apparently is, and as bad word of mouth as it's gotten, and as poorly asit did in the theatre, at the Hollywood Video where I work, we can't KEEP it on the shelf. And we've got 40+ copies of the thing. So who knows?
  10. That's pretty darn fun. Unfortunately, I totally suck at it, and have only managed to barely get 6 seconds before dying. Must try again...
  11. But that's my point: If it WAS put together at the last moment or not, then it's STILL not good. I'm not saying the movie itself is bad, or will be bad, or will be anything. I'm just saying that based on that trailer, which the makers of the movie chose to put out, that my interest (and evidently others as well) for this movie has decreased. Going by what I have read about the movie, I was interested in it. But seeing what they chose to put out there for viewing, less so.
  12. Pepsi, sounds like you're judging it so far also based on the trailer. Which is fine, as that's part of what a trailer is supposed to do: Show you a glimpse of the movie and make you want to see more. Wheras, now that I've viewed the trailer, I want to see the movie LESS than I did before. And I'm well aware that it's based on the book and not on the movie. I was actually looking forward to it just to see the differences in interpretation. But now I'm less inclined to do so. In my opinion, this trailer did the OPPOSITE of it's job. It made me not want to see the movie as much. Regardless of the quality of the full movie, I'm less likely to watch it in the first place now, based on what they chose to show.
  13. You know, for being a "kids network", Nickelodeon had some really kick butt shows. I used to watch Nick all afternoon, and then Nick at Nite all night. Dick Van Dyke Show/Mary Tyler Moore back to back ruled all for me.
  14. Can't really say ALL of my favorites, as I love Christmas music, period. But I heard NAt King Cole on the radio the other day singing "O Holy Night" and it sent chills down my spine. Of course, it WAS Nat King Cole, so that reaction shouldn't be TOO surprising.
  15. I haven't heard of this before. And after reading what you just posted about it, I'm glad, and I doubt I'll be hearing about it anytime in the near future.
  16. Eh, so I was off by 1,500 or so, big deal. I was still right IN SPIRIT dammit! AHA! I just realized why the number is so off. The site I'm looking at lists 1,600 between '65 and '86. So there's like, almost 18 years since then for the song to be recorded a bunch more times. I KNEW I wasn't crazy.
  17. Again according to the Guiness Book of World Records site, "Yesterday" has ben recorded over 1,500 times or somethign like that. It's a BIG number anyway. That IS a pretty cool sit though Pander.
  18. According to the Guiness Book of World Records website, Yesterday IS the most recorded song. Now, whether that = most COVERED song (i.e. could have been played live but not RECORDED) is another story. But still, Yesterday it is.
  19. Some of my faves have already been mentioned, but I always like the "Land Shark" skit from the OLD SNL. Funny stuff.
  20. OMG, I LOVE Bloodsport. MY wife, mother and I were talking about that the other day, and strangely, despite having TOTALLY different tastes in movies, we ALL Agreed that the movie kicks ass. Sorry, just had to get that in.
  21. I hate to do it, but I have to agree with syco here. That wasn't THAT bad. I mean, yeah, it was THAT bad, but it wasn't THAT BAD, if that makes sense. Still, like, ouch. Seriously ouch.
  22. For some reason, I can't get the game to run. It just won't do anything at all after I download it. And here I was all excited about getting to catch sperm today. Oh well. And yes, from what I've seen, Kamala is just...I can't really say it without risking a warning. But I'm thinking it man. I'm thinking it.
  23. I was reading through some articles online talking about the latest Billboard charts and various other music related topics, and I noticed something: There seems to be a lot of "music experts" who can't stand country music as a genre and basically refuse to acknowledge country singers as real musicians. And I know that I've seen even on this board some people dismiss a singer as "crap" just because they sing country music. Not trying to argue if it's right or wrong, but I'm curious as to why Country automatically=crap to some people. Your thoughts?
  24. Hmm, I'm not that guy (that I'm aware of anyway ) but I like his taste. I don't know, I just can't STAND to hear her sing that song. I like it when Dolly Parton does it (the one who ORIGINALLY did it) but I can't stand Houston's version. My parents used to torture me with it when they wanted to drive me crazy.
