Not at all--I was a composition/rhetoric guy anyway, not a lit guy. So... I'm really NOT qualified. My graduating essay discussed problems with applying Pratt's "Arts of the Contact Zone" to writing center tutoring. Much less interesting.

There's really no heady critique here. I don't like Joyce for the same reason most people dislike Joyce. I guess I appreciate his more stream-of-consciousness style and funky narration, but that doesn't mean I ever want to read it again.
