  1. Watching new Futurama feels a bit like watching new Red Dwarf. They both have interesting sci-fi concepts, but are disappointingly light on good jokes.
  2. There's a new Humble Bundle that includes Disco Elysium, Wildermyth, Chivalry 2, Spiritfarer, Grime, The Forgotten City and Paradise Killer. It's one of the best they've put together in a long time.
  3. Does it have a GM Mode like in OOTP? I find that to be an interesting way to play those games.
  4. To the surprise of nobody, Australia will not bid to host the 2034 World Cup, leaving Saudi Arabia as the only bidder.
  5. I didn't watch the fight, but I was convinced in the built-up that Fury had barely trained and wasn't taking it seriously. For all the credit Ngannou deserves, I think the damage Fury has done to his credibility is the biggest story.
  6. They're busy enough now with "Wayne Rooney's Birmingham City", so I think they'll be fine.
  7. Reviewers seem to like Alan Wake 2.

    Metal Gear

Snake's Revenge is non-canon, yes. Its inclusion in the collection is the first time Konami has acknowledged it in many years. The interesting thing is that Metal Gear Solid was initially planned to be a remake of the official MSX sequel, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. While Kojima changed his mind and decided to make a new story, MGS shares a lot of narrative and gameplay concepts with its predecessor. It's quite revealing how many ideas were lifted straight from MG2, making me wonder at what point in development the focus was changed. I've always wanted to see the MSX games remade and expanded upon, but Kojima said many times that he wasn't interested in doing so. With Konami remaking Snake Eater, I wonder if such a move might be considered at some point. If, as rumoured, the series is being remade in canonical timeline order, that would be a long way away, though.

    Metal Gear

I'd say it looks so supreme.
  10. They've effectively made an entire Animal Crossing game as side content. How magnificently ridiculous.
  11. There's a twenty-minute Xbox showcase at 6pm BST/10am PT/1pm ET today. The games shown will be third-party titles, with Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Alan Wake 2, Ark: Survival Ascended and Dungeons of Hinterburg confirmed so far.
  12. I beat something called Morgott in Elden Ring. I had to be at about double the recommended level, and with the best equipment available, but I did it after many tries. Apparently, it's one of the easiest bosses, so this will be a long, long slog if I'm ever going to finish the game.
  13. Sounds as though you two need to learn to communicate more effectively.
  14. Seems wise. It's mostly a showcase of the side content, rather than story details, but I can understand wanting to keep some room for surprises.
  15. It's certainly deserved because they won the decisive matches, but it still feels like a bit of an anticlimax for such an open competition. I think we'll look back on this tournament as a really exciting one, but I can't help but feel that it would have a more special place in history if we saw a first-time winner.
  16. As entertaining as New Zealand v South Africa should be, it's the most boring outcome as far as sentiment goes. Out of the ten World Cups that have taken place, seven of them, and the last five in a row, will have been won by either of those two countries. For as close as the matches have been, it's a bit disappointing to see the status quo maintained.
  17. England can hold their heads high, at least. On recent form, that should have been a thrashing, but they got their tactics almost spot on.
  18. Even if South Africa run away with it in the second half, at least England gave it a good go.
  19. Along with Bobby Moore, Charlton was the player English children were brought up to see as legends of the game. He was one of only a few English players to maintain a great reputation internationally years after his retirement.
  20. I can imagine that's partly down to Insomniac's collective skill when it comes to optimisation. The fact that they've managed to put raytracing in every performance mode while other studios, even those owned by Sony, haven't is a testament to how good they are at the technical business. I still think the latest Ratchet and Clank looks better than almost anything else out there.
  21. Argentina did a decent job for a while, but the gap in quality is showing now. New Zealand vs. South Africa ought to be a great final.
