  1. This run of episodes might be the best yet. I'm still mightily impressed that a concept this silly has managed to be so powerful for as long as it has. Waiting until the end of January for the rest of the episodes will be a bit of a pain, but that's the way it is.
  2. I've been playing this a bit more and I can definitely say I prefer it to Bethesda's Fallout games. It has so much more colour and character to it, plus it's nowhere near as buggy as New Vegas, Obsidian's last game of this ilk. Coming into the game, I thought that the choices would be a simple matter of "evil corporate tyrants vs. noble freedom fighters", but I'm glad to see that there's more nuance. I've had to weigh up my decisions quite carefully so far, and I've been second-guessing myself a couple of times already.
  3. Brilliant. Commiserations to New Zealand, but England deserved the victory. I wonder if Wales could join them in the Final.
  4. England have a recent history of imploding in the second half of matches. I'd still hold out hope if I were you.
  5. England dominated that half. They should be disappointed to only be ten points ahead. I now think back to the last time these two teams played, when England squandered a 15-0 half-time lead to lose 16-15. Not this time, please.
  6. I'm looking forward to this. I think New Zealand will be a bit too strong, but I hope I'm wrong.
  7. Apparently it isn't. I find that surprising, but there you go.
  8. I was thinking the same thing. Can it be changed?
  9. I've only played a little bit, but it seems to be on a similar level. I'd say the aesthetic is more stylish too.
  10. I remember Ashes Cricket 13 being so broken that it was permanently removed from sale four days after its release, with refunds given to everyone who bought it. This game has to last two more days to avoid taking that particular crown.
  11. As someone who quite likes baseball, but doesn't follow MLB very closely, which teams are considered to have relatively good fans?
  12. I think that's leaked footage of the new WWE-themed Scalextric set.
  13. Because releasing a broken game is more profitable than not releasing one at all. No matter how bad this is, there'll be enough people giving Visual Concepts the undeserved benefit of the doubt as it's their first try.
  14. I feel sorry for her opponent. They clearly went all out with the "Geralt of Rivia meets Boy George" look and even wore a spooky t-shirt of Becky Lynch from an evil dimension to complement it. You'd think that Bayley would at least try to look impressed.
  15. Tom Hopper plays for Southend, so they can get in the bin with or without Sol.
  16. The fact that it's a bit smaller in scale is something I see as a positive. I think there can be something special about a small game world that has a lot in it, and Yakuza is absolutely a valid example of that. When I think of memorable game locations, I think of Shadow Moses, Spencer Mansion and Rapture more than I think of those in games like Fallout and Elder Scrolls. That's not to say that a big world can't be really nice at times, but I think they miss more than they land.
  17. It's definitely being pitched as more in the vein of Fallout than Borderlands, although it's not as if those two series don't have any crossover. It's directed by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, who were designers for the original Fallout.
  18. I agree. The combat only has to be passable for me in a game like this. It still looks better than Fallout's combat, and that was good enough for me.
  19. The Outer Worlds is getting a lot of positive reviews on the whole. I haven't read any reviews that say anything especially negative, although the Eurogamer write-up suggests that the jokes don't always land and the game doesn't do anything particularly outstanding. Some people are saying that the combat is OK at best, but I've come across a couple of reviews that praise it. Based on that, I'd be holding off on a pre-order, but it's on Game Pass, so sod it. It's available for pre-load now.
  20. The referee looks as if he's wondering if he should tell Bret he's about to be devoured by a tuft of mutant hair.
  21. Chichester get a bye to the Second Round, receiving the prize money as well. It would be great if they managed to make it through to the Third Round and got a draw against Premier League opposition. Either that or a showdown with Potters Bar. Notts will travel to either Ebbsfleet or Woking, which I'm not greatly optimistic for. I expect it will end up being Woking, who are in good form at the moment. Great reaction to the Orient/Maldon & Tiptree draw as well.
  22. I wonder if all these glitches might give the game more attention than it would have had if it were done properly. Youtubers lap this sort of thing up.
  23. Andy Murray's back - kicking bottom or what?
