  1. I like the idea of having multiple host nations as a one-off, but it's made the draw a lot less exciting. The 24-team group stage doesn't work well either, just as it didn't when it was used in the World Cup. When the World Cup expands to 48 teams, at least the permutations of who makes it to the knockout stages will be clear. With the Euros, you have to deal with all the best third-placed team codswallop. When you're possibly having to wait days to know if you've made it through or not, it can make the moment-to-moment drama less potent.
  2. I've never had the mental stamina to do that. I'd have to watch this in chunks.
  3. I didn't think of it earlier, but I think Scribblenauts could be a good idea. It has touch controls in handheld mode and is a really good game for stretching the imagination. I suppose it could also be educational in terms of expanding a child's vocabulary and spelling knowledge.
  4. It might not quite be as wild as the Everton/City match, but this was something that happened on my FM19 game a couple of weeks ago: Just imagine the scenes as football's homecoming is cancelled at the last moment.
  5. Some sort of simple party game might be a good entry point. 1-2 Switch or Mario Party, perhaps. Mario Kart ought to be a reasonable bet too, and the Lego games are very beginner-friendly.
  6. The Playstation Plus games have leaked slightly early. The first is Titanfall 2 and the second is Monster Energy Supercross: The Video Game. Seriously.
  7. I've just seen that this returns on 23rd February.
  8. You should be able to. Backwards compatible games on disc have to be downloaded to the system anyway because it's how the emulation works.
  9. The fight's on Youtube now, although it'll certainly be taken down quickly. Ortiz was dominating the fight until that monster shot. Wilder has a lot of weaknesses as a technical boxer, but his punching power is devastating. He's like a reverse Amir Khan.
  10. It's a shame that we won't see both Irelands at the Euros.
  11. I should add at this point that I didn't follow the Eriksen/Vertonghen story and thought that there genuinely was an affair. I'm still not a fan of it because the "lad" culture of football annoys me, but it doesn't seem as mean-spirited as I initially thought.
  12. I think you can still have fun with chants without targeting the opposition. All teams have their own songs and chants that make for a good atmosphere. I'm just fed up of people acting as if being part of a crowd in a stadium gives them carte blanche to act like pricks.
  13. I don't like any chants that negatively target individuals, teams or nations, unless perhaps it's someone who's done something particularly horrible. I'd much prefer it if fans just cheered on their own team without being unpleasant towards the opposition.

    Best OST

I've been listening to the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack a lot lately, so that's one I'd pick. All the Metal Gear games have great music too. I'll also occasionally listen to the Street Fighter 2 tracks because they're so catchy and memorable. As for films, Blade Runner is one that springs to mind. I actually think the film itself is really corny, but the set design and slightly unsettling, yet pleasantly understated music means it punches well above its weight.
  15. A lot of sites are reporting on rumours of a Half-Life VR game, with a leak suggesting that it could be revealed at The Game Awards on 12th December. That would be a nice pick-up on a day that's bound to be otherwise very depressing.
  16. Wild Bill was interesting to me because it's set in my home town. Spotting some of the locations I see on a daily basis was a lot of fun. Some of the accents were way off, though.
  17. I wasn't aware of Tracks - The Train Set Game, but it's on Game Pass for PC and Xbox and it looks really charming. I'm hoping to give it a go later.
  18. I think people underestimate Sonic's appeal among children. It's not as big as it was among young people during the 1990s, but it's not as if children aren't familiar with it. I've seen a few primary school children with Sonic bags and it was mainly children who were interested in the Sonic games when I worked at GAME a few years ago. Sonic toys are also still widely available in shops.
  19. Game Pass games available now: Games available either this year or next year: Games available on release day:
