I thought there were some good announcements there, mainly geared around Game Pass. The presenters were mostly annoying, though.

Microsoft's X019 show is tonight at 8.00pm GMT. It's expected to include new game announcements, with rumours about new Rare and Obsidian IPs swirling around. They'll be some Game Pass stuff too, I imagine. I just hope it's not as horribly presented as Microsoft's normal "too cool for school" Inside Xbox shows. Something straight-laced will do fine.

Some of the BBC's DVD box sets are expensive, so maybe it's a decent deal if you like those.

It's clearly a silly children's film, and I don't know why anyone would expect anything else from a live action Sonic the Hedgehog. The trailer shows him hitting himself in the face, falling over, playing table tennis with himself, making noises with his armpits and screaming in a very child-friendly way. Then you've got Jim Carrey making wacky faces. As far as source material is concerned, what exactly is there to work with? The best and most popular games were bright, virtually plotless sidescrollers that involved running quickly and jumping on things. Storylines from the 3D games were laughably stupid and were soon swept under the carpet in future releases because Sonic fans hated them. The only Sonic property I can think of with a reasonably decent story was Sonic SatAM, and predictably, the Sonic fans hated that too because it introduced characters that weren't in the games. So, really, if you want a film that sticks to the core of the franchise and satisfies the Sonic community, you'd be looking at a back-to-back Let's Play of the Mega Drive games.

I think it's nice that a game studio has been given carte blanche by a massive publisher to create the game it wants to create without any compromises. That's all too rare these days. Having said that, it's still probably not my thing. I do like the idea, but I wouldn't have the patience to stick with it for its entire duration.

I'm in my second season of RTTS and I've been traded twice already. I started with the Angels, was moved to the Rangers and have now ended up with the Red Sox. I think my contract ends at the close of the season, so I'll see if I can make yet another move.

I'm hoping for some all-non-league ties. A nice home draw for Notts would be nice too, although away at Boston would be particularly interesting for me.

Was the purse really that small? I thought this was a massive Pay-Per-View event.

The last mainline Pokemon game I played was X. I finished it and caught most of the Pokemon, but I can't remember most of the little bastards. I can only recall a few from the Gold/Silver days. It's a difficult one because I can understand people being disappointed that their favourite monster has been cut, but I'm definitely far from the only one who has no meaningful connection with the vast majority of them. I'd probably have preferred it if they only added a few each game (maybe the starters and a couple of legendaries) and focused more on the setting, story and gameplay. These games look reasonably promising on that front.

I thought it was a handicap match. Did Maldon and Tiptree find that they couldn't co-exist?

I had no idea there would be more episodes after this run. That's a nice bonus. It's also good that they're only giving it a short break and they're not doing a Breaking Bad with a year-long wait for the last episodes.

I finished it yesterday as well. I had fun with it. Maybe the game didn't do anything groundbreaking (hardy-har), but it didn't need to. Everything it did was done well.
