  1. I won't complain with that, even though I already have the Uncharted Collection on disc.
  2. Most game studios try to make more stylised, cartoon-like games in VR, rather than striving for realism. You're working with the challenge of rendering smooth motion (above 60fps) on two different screens, which means that a significant hit in visual quality is needed on conversions from pre-existing big-budget games like Skyrim and Resident Evil 7. It's going to be a long time before games with "realistic" graphic styles look as good in VR as they do on a standard screen today.
  3. VR in general looks pretty murky. It'll be a good few years before we see even PS3-quality graphics through a console VR headset.
  4. I hate Black Mirror, and I've never even watched it. I'm just bitter that its success means that Charlie Brooker doesn't have time to make "Wipe" shows any more.
  5. I'm not sure. Suggesting that Woking are a league club is a little over-respectful.
  6. Fire Emblem: Three Houses is my favourite game of the year, so I can't not recommend that. Super Mario Odyssey is a lot of fun too, and you've also got the other usual Nintendo goodies, like Mario Kart and Smash Bros. Breath of the Wild, though a game that annoyed me a few too many times with some needlessly restrictive mechanics, has a lot to offer as well.
  7. This Nigel Pearson fella may also be a bit good.
  8. Is that for existing users or just new ones?
  9. That's very generous, but I already have it from a Humble Bundle. I'm sure someone else here will make good use of it, though.
  10. Speaking of Warhammer: Total War (well, the second one), thanks for the recommendation. I've been playing it recently and enjoy the fantasy elements despite my ignorance of the Warhammer lore. It's a nice change of pace to the usual Total War formula that makes it feel a bit fresher.
  11. That'll do for me. I have plenty of other games I could play instead anyway.
  12. I still haven't ever played GTA Online. Is it fun when you play alone? Same question for Red Dead Online.
  13. The big Steam sale will start today. They don't have the same novelty as they used to, but it's worth bearing in mind if you're planning to buy anything.
  14. This is something that I wasn't keen on as the series progressed. Vader started out as an intimidating figure who did the dirty work (literally a man called "Darth") of the Empire and ended up as Space Jesus by the time the prequels were finished. It makes the officers' mocking of The Force as "your sad devotion to that ancient religion" seem utterly ridiculous when Anakin and the other Jedi were mowing down foes with little more than a stern glance just a few years beforehand. I've been at the point for a while now where I have no desire for any more Star Wars. I haven't seen any of the Disney films and don't intend to. That's not because I think they'd be bad, but because I liked the ending of the original trilogy and don't want to see my decades-old perception of a pleasant conclusion tarnished. As far as I'm concerned, they all lived happily ever after.
  15. From what I've read, RDR 2 works really well with mouse and keyboard controls.
  16. The Blade Runner adventure game from 1997 is now available on GOG. It's often considered one of the best film-based games ever.
  17. What I'm interested in is which old games might be remastered in the near future. We've already seen Jedi Outcast on Switch, with Jedi Academy coming next year. The KOTOR games on Switch would be very nice indeed, although losing out on KOTOR 2's cut content would be a shame.
  18. People on the internet have started calling it the Xbox SeX, so we'll have that to look forward to for the next several years.
  19. In seriousness, I really don't care what it looks like or what its name is. The original Xbox was a big, black crate, and I quite liked that. Backwards compatibility with both Xbox One games and controllers, as well as the Game Pass factor, make this new console potentially an attractive purchase. As always, of course, the price will be the most important part of the puzzle.
  20. Once again, Sony wins the console naming contest by way of not actually trying.
  21. I don't know much about Firewatch, but that's an unusual poetic structure you have there.
  22. Speaking of ticket prices, Aerosmith are charging £149 for their UK shows next year. When they headlined Download a couple of years ago, you could pay around half that for a day ticket to see them, a load of other bands and two on-site NXT shows.
  23. Two Point Hospital is coming to Game Pass when it launches on consoles. It's not clear yet whether or not that means straight away, but it's coming.
