  1. Me too, coming to think of it. My workplace banned all radios and we weren't allowed to use the internet for non-work-related purposes, so I only found out the results of most matches when I got home. I also missed a lot of the 2014 tournament because I was working nights then. I don't know how keen I'd be to look back at 2010, honestly. I don't remember it being the most exciting World Cup. The constant vuvuzela droning would be annoying too. Maybe laughing at England has its appeal, though.
  2. I finished the main story of The Witcher 3 today. I bought the game at launch and kept stopping to play other games, so this has been nearly a five-year journey. Also, coming to think of it, the fact that the game's nearly five years old seems mad to me. I still think of it as a really recent game.
  3. This isn't an exciting video unless you really like numbers. The gist of it is that the PS5 isn't quite as powerful as the Xbox Series X, although they don't look to be miles apart.
  4. I'm still playing last year's game, but I was traded three times in the first three years of my RTTS career. I started with the Angels, who traded me to the Texans before I'd been called up from the minor leagues. I probably played for the Texans for less than half a season before they traded me to the Red Sox. I kept asking my agent to sort out a trade, and I was eventually moved to the Cubs, where I'm happy to stay. It was very surprising because I'd never been traded in the two previous games I'd played in the series (14 and 16).
  5. Looks as though we'll get a lot more technical information on the PS5 tomorrow.
  6. That's sad. I think Barnet have something like seven home matches left in the season, whereas most other clubs have four or five. That's a fair amount of lost revenue in ticket sales without a definite indication as to when the season will resume.
  7. The digital version here is cheaper than any physical copies I can find. Mind you, I'm too absorbed in my RTTS game from the previous edition to upgrade yet. I know you can import saves from old versions of the game, but I'd rather start a new career if I have to learn new game mechanics.
  8. I find the game a bit too "needy". I'm constantly chasing after the characters' lifestyle requirements and it becomes like a second job, rather than something fun to relax with. I think what's put me off Animal Crossing before is that the game world continues to develop in real time, which makes it sound as if your village gets unkempt and wild if you don't play every day. What I'm looking for is something that I can play at my own pace, without a background gimmick making it seem like more of a chore than a form of entertainment.
  9. What difficulty are you playing on? If you're on the Normal setting, certain battles can be completed as many times as you like without using activity points. Therefore, the only possible issue would be having to pay for weapon repairs. The Hard setting means that all battles cost activity points. I tend to battle a couple of days a month. Then I can use the other days to explore the monastery and increase my skills, as well as increasing student motivation through bonding bites. On another subject, the new Animal Crossing is apparently very good. I've never played one before. If I find The Sims annoying, but like Stardew Valley a lot, how likely am I to enjoy Animal Crossing?
  10. Thanks to all the Premier League and EFL postponements, Meadow Lane had the highest football attendance in the country today. For one day, Notts County were the biggest club in England.
  11. I'm going to disagree on your thoughts about The Carnival is Over, and it's partly because of my own personal bias. It's one of my mother's favourite songs, which is meaningful to me, but I also think it's a lovely, soothing song with surprisingly touching lyrics in its own right. Judith Durham is one of my favourite singers ever, and I also think the other band members deserve a lot of credit for their harmonies. The song is also apparently used quite often at the end of big events in Australia. I definitely remember it being sung during the closing ceremony of the 2000 Paralympics, and it would have been performed at the Olympics closing ceremony if Judith Durham hadn't broken her hip shortly beforehand. The Seekers always used to use it as the closing song of their concerts too. Here's footage of them performing it in 2013, with all members of the group over the age of 70.
  12. I recently found out that someone I was at school with now works for Team 17. She was on the last Nintendo "Nindies" Direct show.
  13. RATM are charging a boatload for their shows. Still, fight the power.
  14. With the cancellation now official, Microsoft and Ubisoft have announced plans for digital presentations.
  15. It hasn't been officially announced yet, but several sources are saying that the cancellation is imminent. The coronavirus is actually a bit of a face-saver because companies were pulling out even before its outbreak. Bloomberg has reported that the ESA could be looking at making an online-only E3 instead, which would probably be better anyway.
  16. This series has a long history of features being removed for no good reason. I might not mind if they built on the modes that were in, but they hardly ever do.
  17. Close game in the end, thanks to disciplinary issues from a couple of England players. I'm intrigued as to how this will all be sorted with the indefinitely postponed Italy matches.
  18. OK, I've just done it. I don't think I'll be able to watch most streams live, but I don't watch anything else on there. You might as well have my free money.
  19. I don't understand. Why do you need a free subscription to a channel? I thought following a channel was free as it is.
  20. I only just caught the end of this. I'm looking forward to seeing some janky minigames. Whether I'll be able to catch it live is unknown, but I'll be looking at the recap if not.
  21. It's a bit weak that they've disregarded the promotions and relegations from the first time round. On the other hand, four-team groups make more sense. The video mentions that two group winners will get a second chance to qualify for the World Cup via the playoffs. I'm guessing that will be the two highest ranked teams who haven't already qualified, rather than a random draw. I quite like the competition. It beats having several meaningless friendlies, anyway.
