  1. I have deleted Destiny 2 from my playstation in a fit of blind rage. So me and Snowball downloaded Destiny 2 because it's FTP and that's pretty neat. We had fun shooting some aliens for a couple days and then we were like "oh, hey, where's the story?" and turns out all the stories are in the DLC and there's no actual story in the FTP version. That's fine, I totally get that. So I had a look online and found out that basically the initial campaign and the first couple DLCs are 'vaulted' which is apparently a new fangled word for 'deleted' and they just don't exist anymore. Alright, that's a shame, but whatever, I get it. I then find that the first 'available' DLC is Forsaken, which has a campaign and all that good stuff and that's rad because I don't mind if the story is good or coherent, I just wanted some kind of narrative between doing a bunch of pew pews on these aliens, because if I'm just left to my own devices of pumping led with no context I'll inevitably start feeling the existential dread on whether or not these scumbags have families. With that, I bought Forsaken on both the playstation and xbox so me and Snowball could play it together and we'd have a dope time. Nope. Turn on the game this evening to have some fun rootin' rootin' alien shootin' times (on our damn birthday no less) only to spend a good ten minutes living out that awesome John Travolta looking for something gif because there seems to be no marker to start the campaign I just dropped twenty bucks on. A few Google's later and as it turns out, they also removed the Forsaken campaign earlier in the year and that what I bought basically amounted to a couple fancy hats and a raid which we are in no way prepared for. Destiny 2 is an incredibly fun but disastrously opaque experience that has absolutely zero regard for shepherding in new players. But hey, there was a lady selling pumpkins or something, so I guess that makes things better? This is why I stick to single player games.
  2. I've never had an interest in online games or first person shooters (bar DOOM because DOOM bangs), neither genre has ever really spoke to me and I'm not very good at them and I'm really antisocial when it comes to gaming. That has now all changed thanks to Overwatch 2 and Destiny 2. Been playing both of them fairly consistently with Cecily over the last week or two and I absolutely adore them both. Both of them play so fluidly. Now I feel like I've missed out on a bunch of dope games.
  3. It's really good! I think it outstays it's welcome a little, in that there's a really tight 12 hour story told in a much looser 16 hours, but it's definitely a lot of fun and a great blueprint of what could come next.
  4. I'm personally hoping it doesn't get like that because I'm having a blast playing and I'm absolutely rubbish at it.
  5. I'm having a wonderful time playing Overwatch. Would be fun to play with some of y'all. #oliverprob2750
  6. Huh, I don't think I knew that last ending existed. I basically just killed that guy the first chance I got because I hated him oh so fucking much.
  7. In fairness, the reason for the delay is that CDProjekt had outsourced development to a Russian development team. That's now off the cards because of, well, y'know, so they've brought it in house.
  8. Same tbh. Platinumed Elden Ring over the weekend and now feel like an empty shell of a man. I've got no clue what to play next and for the first time in a long time there's nothing on the horizon that interests me. Might just play Elden Ring again.
  9. You also get a bunch of that specific item a couple areas past that boss. I think I've got, like, 7 or 8 in my inventory now.
  10. https://probablyoliver.wordpress.com/2022/03/20/sifu-review/ If anyone was interested to learn my thoughts on the excellent Sifu, I wrote a review of it. I think it's pretty good.
  11. One of my New Year's Resolutions was to write more. I've decided to start with a review of Horizon Forbidden West. Maybe @Your Mom will find it helpful? 😅 https://probablyoliver.wordpress.com/2022/03/17/horizon-forbidden-west-review/
  12. I'm spending the next few hours exploring Elden Ring for the first time so if y'all wanna come and hang out, that'd be just swell. twitch.tv/probablyoliver
  13. Saw Brockhampton last night for their last ever UK show. First gig I've been to since November 2019 and holy shit, what a night. I don't think I've ever heard a crowd so loud. Incredible stuff.
  14. I took some time off of streaming but I am back now. https://twitch.tv/probablyoliver
  15. Welp, I guess I'm gonna fight God. 😅 But oh man, this game. I'm still going through the fallout of the sixth palace in Royal and I'm blown away by how much I've loved the whole thing. Incredible game.
  16. Got the platinum on San Andreas last night (around 20 minutes after the patch came out, typical), and my thoughts remain the same. Absolutely loved replaying it, it wasn't nearly as offensive as I was afraid of it being (only one mission centred around homophobic stereotypes, and only a couple more with racial overtones. Also only one hard R that I remember hearing), and all the bugs I witnessed were more on the funny side than annoying - after one mission I was stripped of all my clothes for some reason, and the invisible bridges were always kinda fun. I did have a few hard crashes, and that's pretty unforgivable on an almost 20 year old game, but for the most part it ran well enough. Overall, it's still San Andreas, and I loved it for all of its faults then, and I love it the same now. Still, fuck Rockstar for thinking this was good enough to put out into the public.
  17. I'm doing the Casino missions in San Andreas, and I hate to say it but I'm actually really enjoying my time with it. It's an incredibly lazy remaster, and there's a lot of stuff worthy of eye rolling, but it's still a great game. Rockstar deserve every bit of bad press they're getting from this, but I'm having fun at least.
  18. Of all the State of Play's I've ever watched, that was certainly one of them.
