  6. I think I'm going to turn things aside a bit here... With the seventh pick in the draft, our newly renamed team drafts someone who truly fits the name "Reflecto HG"'s style... Peyton Manning, QB, Indianapolis. Remember, when you think "Hard Gay", we are certain you'll think Peyton Manning.
  7. 1) The Pillows 2) This Day and Age 3) Dropline 4) Goldfinger 5) Death Cab for Cutie 6) SR-71 7) Hikaru Utada 8) Matisyahu 9) New Radicals 10) Ted Leo and the Pharmacists
  8. Be... ...you are getting sleepy... ...You want to root for the Atlanta Hawks...the Hawks... (*snickers* Ain't I a stinker...?)
  9. Not sure on how many (I assume multiple), but I'm pretty sure the name "Dreams" is the only name in which two separate songs with the same title were in the charts at the same time (and I'm sure it's been done by a few people in addition)...
  10. Arcade: Ms.Pac Man- I hated going to this small dive diner that my parents loved going to for breakfast originally. I hated everything on the menu, they KNEW I hated everything on the menu, but they kept saying "Oh, try this- you'll like this, we know." Why did I keep going there? They had a Ms.Pac Man machine, and I could usually muster some quarters. Eventually, they got rid of the machine- and I stopped even remotely enjoying the place. The Simpsons- The first arcade game I ever focused myself on defeating in order to get through it. NES: Tecmo NBA Basketball: The first game I set my sights on making enough money to get, working an entire summer just to get it all. Sega Genesis: Mortal Kombat: Still easily the best deal I've ever gotten in a video game. It was the hottest game in the world at that time. Something everyone was willing to pay 50 bucks for in stores. I got it for 3 bucks. After that, everyone in the neighborhood was heading to my house to play. NHL '95: I loved this game. I enjoyed sports games before, but this was a revelation: The first ever game to allow create-a-player and active trade options made this the first one to own my soul. (To this day, the new-era stuff doesn't have the same kick to it as these did, save for the games made in the NHL's last few expansion years.) Nintendo 64: Wrestlemania 2000: The first game I had really been dying to get. I spent so much on renting it from the video store I should have just saved it all to buy it. When it finally lowered in price so I could afford it, I was ecstatic. No Mercy: See above. PS1: Final Fantasy VIII: I didn't get VII until later on, and I had wanted to get this one since seeing the advertisements that looked good in mid-1999. However, it wasn't until 2000 that I finally picked it up. In that time, I was undergoing the worst summer in my life, where basically everything had went wrong. Finally, in a string of utter depression, I headed up to a far-off mall and picked it up for 15 bucks (off of the 40 that it was supposed to be- getting lucky that EB gave me the price they were knocking it down to the day after I came in.) With all the problems that happened combined to this one, I am still convinced I would have killed myself that summer if I didn't buy this game. By the end of the summer, I was miserable, but my mind was intact to deal with it and focus everything onto this. By October, I had finally been able to turn to the fanfiction game on it, harnessing everything, becoming a top name at the time, and eventually getting onto the path I'm on today...all in all, not a bad move for 15 bucks, eh? PC: Promotion Wars: I still think it was this game and enjoying it that got me into pro wrestling as much as I am now- because of all the unknown workers, I wanted to see what other promotions besides WWF and WCW were like. Also major because it got me into... EWR: If it didn't change my life, why am I on an EWR board?
  11. 1-Lordi - "Hard Rock Hallelujah" 2-Bob Dylan - "Like A Rolling Stone" 3-Hot Hot Heat - "Bandages" 4-Guns N Roses - "November Rain" 5-Pearl Jam - "Black" 6-Pixies - "Here Comes Your Man" 7-David Gray - "Babylon" 8-In Flames - "Cloud Connected" 9-Metallica - "Nothing Else Matters" 10-Oasis - "Live Forever" -1 - Metallica - "Enter Sandman" -2 -Alice in Chains - "Man in a Box" -3 -Blink 182 - "I Miss You" -4 -Creed - "Higher" -5 -Radiohead - "There There"
  12. I know that some people have managed to see their copies yet (too many DVDs bought recently and finals has led me to be unable to watch mine), so I still have one question that wasn't entirely clear from any of the fansub copies I've seen: Is Denzel supposed to be Tifa's son or what? I know he's supposed to be a bit too old for that one(5 or 6, meaning he'd have had to be in the game if he was), but the fact that every sub I've seen has him refer to her as his mother does make me ask...
  13. I think it's actually great as a form of self-fulfilling prophecy at work: Throughout the Bush years, two of the major knocks about it are that they are, in layman's terms, "fucking clueless" and that, in addition, they have no sense of what the average American is like. They hire Colbert, he does his thing, and they get pissed off at it. This proves that, since they're angry at his comedy, they logically must have hired him thinking that he was a legitimate right-wing pundit when anyone who's even seen a little bit of Colbert knows that his entire gimmick is that he's making fun of right wing pundits (in short, proving the Bush Administration is fucking clueless), and moreover, that there was also no one in the place who knew that this was Colbert's gimmick to tell them (in short, proving they're out of touch with the average American...)
  14. Well, to be fair, they didn't exactly fail in this attempt...
  15. Take it with a grain of salt, but I believe I did hear that if NBC cancels Scrubs, ABC already has plans to pick it up (considering it's produced by a division of ABC, it seems likely...)
  16. Baseketball: If it's relatively cheap, buy it: It is a funny movie and you won't really be disappointed. Memento: It's a great movie, but I would honestly say rent it: While it's an excellent film, it's also one of those movies where you can really only watch it once because once you've seen it and know what's going to happen, it's never going to have that same impact again. Virgin Suicides: It's kind of a film more for angsty teenagers than it was for women. (Personally, I also didn't enjoy it- you might want to rent this one instead...) Being John Malkovich: Since you said it was only slightly more expensive than a rental, I'd take a chance on buying it: Worst comes to worst and you dislike it, just sell it back for store credit... Napoleon Dynamite: Either rent this film while saving the money to buy it or buy the film and save the receipt- either you're going to think it was 90 minutes of your life you'll never get back or it's going to be one of your all-time favorites.
  17. They play them often at my school's coffeehouse. I'd definitely say they're good, considering that I'll actually listen to them despite the fact that I REALLY hate folk music.
  18. Load me in- I'm SorceressKnight over there.
  19. Darn- the albums past 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage were less essential, but every album had at least one song that usually ended up firmly on my personal soundtrack for the year that it was released. Hopefully whatever new project will be decent...
