  1. Rooster Teeth shutting down after 21 years I was never really into their stuff outside of the early years of RvB, I still have some of those early episodes and skits memorized. Just RVB alone feels like it had a massive impact, not just as a pioneering force of machinima in the 'early internet days' of the 00's but on Halo itself, I remember those guys getting easter egg cameos in Halo 3 and Griffball being incorporated into the games. I was a ScrewAttack guy back in the day which got absorbed into RT but there still some of those guys there to this day, like Chad just tweeted that it's been like 15 years for him between the different companies and restructures so it goes to show what a big part of the internet culture it's been in our lives.
  2. TBF, the reaction from MK Dons was equally as passionate:
  3. At least they've fixed the 'buy Erling Haaland for 2.5m' glitch.
  4. Double Team with JCVD and Dennis Rodman. Decades before Indiana Jones hid in a fridge during a nuclear blast, JCVD hid behind a vending machine whilst an amphitheater exploded.
  5. Titling his video 'A Measured Response' is some excellent trolling though.
  6. As history has shown us, gamers can be quite creative when it comes to circumventing blocks on things like swear words and racial slurs so I'm curious how well EA would be able to stop people putting a players name in.
  7. IT'S HAPPENING! June 21st - £35/$40 - Plus there seems to be all manner of bundles and collectors editions available. This price point would suggest some fully blown expansion pack rather than a mere DLC.
  8. Granted losing to Huddersfield isn't the best look but it feels a bit sudden, they've been doing okay under him haven't they? I know that footage of him seemingly blanking his own player after subbing him off was doing the rounds but I can't imagine something like that would be the instigating factor here.
  9. As Bobfoc alludes to, we're probably about halfway through if history is anything to go by. I suppose it just feels weird because of the time dilation of COVID and it's only been within the past couple of years that these things have been readily available. For the podcast, felt like kind of a nothing burger but that's mostly down to the way people have spent the last week over exaggerating the situation, to the extreme of people speculating that Microsoft were able to pull a SEGA and withdraw from the hardware market entirely. The whole multi-platform thing doesn't feel like a big deal to me, we've had years them publishing games on other platforms, being able to get achievements on your phone, PC, Switch etc and the industry seems more adoptive of crossplay. Financially it just makes sense as well, make your first batch of income on first party exclusivity, then when that dries up you cast your net to a wider audience by releasing elsewhere. It's like movies back in the day; you had your cinema release income, then rental/PPV, then widescale VHS/DVD release. It's better optics as well that they're not just hoarding these things now that they're buying these other developers, which is probably a big part of this since they had that big monopoly case (or it might even be still going). I would question whether they'd be doing this from a position of strength though, I imagine they're lagging behind Sony (and Nintendo if you class the Switch as the same gen) in most metrics so they're going to throw stuff at the wall to see what sticks in order to try and play catchup.
  10. I marked out a little bit when Gambit jumped on Logan's back and charged his claws. I was watching the original years back when it was on Netflix but was up around S3 when it got pulled. Might have to try and power through the rest, or even just the last season, before this starts.
  11. There's a clip doing the rounds where she goes to rescue someone from a car crash. It starts with her approaching the vehicle, then cuts to her inside the veichle so it just looks like she's gone to rescue herself. I assume this is just incompetent editing rather than some sort of visual metaphor.
  12. On the contrary, I think these games have really been missing something when they don't ask us to put Road Dogg through a table.
  13. I'm pleased with tonight's developments, there was no glamour in the idea of going to Villa Park and being beat. Chelsea though, despite their billions of pounds spent and roughly 200 squad players, the Leeds fanbase still took one collective look at their league position and said "Yeah, we can take these guys." so that little glimmer of hope will make things interesting.
  14. I knew he might be missing Wrestlemania but I didn't think his injury was that bad...
  15. I'm more concerned by how bright his earlobes are.
  16. I'm sure when they release it on Switch 2 and PS6 we'll get another swell of activity.
  17. Excuse me, apsham, I think you'll find we call it Skeerim around these parts.
  18. I finally got to see The Iron Claw, it's not out until later in the week but I got a free ticket to a screening tonight thought something that I think runs in conjunction with the BFI and National Lottery. I said as much on Twitter but, despite knowing all the major plots points in that story, it's still a very tough one to get through. It's kind of interesting in that way though, obviously the optimum way to see any movie is to go in blind but here it almost builds this sense of dread in you because you know exactly what's coming. Like when they're building up to the proposed David von Eric vs Ric Flair feud and Fritz is like 'You're going to Japan, son'. To anyone else it's built up to be this triumphant moment, but all I can think in that moment is 'Oh fuck...'. Speaking of Ric Flair, boy howdy, I'd heard the hot takes over the last few months and were they ever right. Like, who watched that during production and say "Yeah, let's roll with that.". Maybe they didn't want someone to do a full on the nose, Jay Lethal level impression because it would be too distracting or whatever but it's laughable to people in the know. And just to go back earlier in this thread, I will have no besmirching of Kirk Cameron. Saving Christmas is a great bad movie and I keep meaning to watch Left Behind in the hopes that will be similarly terribad.
  19. Having spent the morning seeing 'Chelsea want 50m for Broja', I thought Fulham had gone insane when I saw the 'Broja set for Fulham' headlines later on.
  20. Sounds like Conor Roberts is coming in on loan for Leeds. A full back and another Welshman for the collection? What a time to be alive.
  21. You took the words out of my mouth. Why do people have a pair of rubber gloves on their shoulders that serve as a face mask but can also help you light your cigarette? Why is Norman Reedus carrying around a doll that has come to life? Why is the Joker shooting lightning out of a guitar? Actually, that last one got a laugh out of me just for the sheer spectacle.
  22. "Sekiro was pretty good but you know what it really needed? A flamethrower."
  23. Barney seems real wooden on the mic. Same with a few of the gladiators, it's fun that they're doing the pantomime villain thing but it feels like some of them could ham it up a bit more. Like that whole bit with Viper and Clattenburg at the start of this week's episode where Viper just gets in a bit of a mood and throws an elbow pad at the locker room door.
