Atlanta is refusing to use their unique position in all this to do anything but scream "culture warrrr"

1. Fuck the Braves.

2. Donald Trump and Tucker Carlson are already bitching about the game being moved, which proves it was absoutely the right thing to do.

MLB has pulled the All Star Game out of Atlanta.  Milwaukee is rumored to be an early favorite for a replacement city because they can still honor Hank Aaron's legacy.

Mike Huckabee's tweet about this is a master class in moron shit.

The second Jed Lowrie took the field for the A's on Opening Day, he had more appearances in the field than he did in the last two years with the Mets.  His first hit of the season gave him more hits than he had with the Mets.  And in two games he's had the same number of plate appearances as he did with the Mets.

I've gone over the Lowrie story before but it's so ridiculous it's worth saying again:  after signing a two-year deal with the Mets in 2019, he was shut down on the literal first day of spring training with knee soreness and basically never recovered in two years.  Had zero mobility to even attempt to play the field, limiting him to just a few pinch hitting appearances when rosters expanded in 2019.  2020 he shows up to camp in an obnoxiously large knee brace and before the shutdown even happened league scouts were saying there was no chance he plays in a game at all (and he didn't).  Even when the injury diagnosis finally came out of "PCL laxity" it sounded made up.

I wondered if maybe he developed a degenerative knee condition that would prevent him from ever playing again but he's looked great and healthy all spring with the A's.

I wonder if the true story of what happened to him here will ever come out, because it sure seems like he decided at some point he wasn't gonna play for the Mets and decided to take them for a ride.
